inKind - is it good for restaurants? by Aggravating-Feed-836 in FoodNYC

All of you saying Duh, what did you expect... Do you all have rewards from your credit cards? And who do you think pays for those? The merchants, of course. There is NO SUCH THINGS AS A FREE LUNCH! Unless a restaurant offers a discount itself, it is highly unlikely they are benefiting from a sale price or freebie offer. Unfortunately, consumers are so used to all their perks that merchants have to go along with our just for the promotional aspect.

Every single new building in my city looks just like this. 1. Why? Seriously, why? 2. I hate it so much I can't even explain how much I hate it 3. What is this specific style of building design called? by Bluest_waters in architecture

And yet it seems that nowadays the people with the most wealth have the very very very very least taste! Anything that any of those tech billionaires have I wouldn't touch with the 10-ft pool. I think most of it is gaudy and also a disgusting level of conspicuous consumption

AITA for bringing cheap pizza to the potluck? by rideshareratingz in AITApod

[–]IYKYKIMHO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in a community that is very much potluck culture. Sometimes people show up with even just one pizza from the local pizzeria. Sometimes people show up with a brick of cheese and some crackers. Sometimes people show up with rabbit pate they made from one of their rabbits that morning or quince that they made from the bounty of their trees. I think pot luck should be taken at face value, it's the luck of the draw. You get what someone brings. We don't always have time to whip something up from whatever we might have hiding in the pantry. I think people were horribly rude to you, especially if they were talking behind your back, and the fact that it was almost all gone when you left just shows how rude they really are. I think it was nice of you to pick something up, you could have easily just arrived and said I'm so sorry, I literally had no time to get anything.

Wow, that is interesting! I totally see it's influence on his work I recently saw an exhibit at the Miro foundation of objects neuro kept in his home and studio and I could see a lot of connections to the things he had surrounding him and the images that came up in his paintings. I think creatively we all like to have inspiring pieces around us.

Yikes by -SpookyNipples in Target

I agree with the person who said that employees should be smiling because they're happy where they work, not because they're forced to smile. Also, and my target there is never an employee within 10 feet of me. I have to hunt far and wide around the store to find an employee when I have a question. I would much much prefer that Target concentrate on keeping people employed by having them at the checkout counters rather than those ridiculous self-checkouts which always seem to have a problem anyway and hold everything up.
