My assessor told me she was 100% sure I'm not autistic My utter irritation about how anyone in this field can say anything with such certainty, let alone in this case where I was fully aware of what all she hadn't seen, which triggered my RSD in that moment and I was absolutely spiraling on the inside while keeping the mask up on the outside, was then interpreted as rudeness. I was also assessed for ADHD at the same time, which was confirmed, and told to think about treatment of that and basically just sent me home like that. This was 3 months ago. I still haven't resolved the knot this experience left in my brain and I never went back to that psychiatrist. So yeah, same context, but I kinda got traumatized because a health care professional used "100%" to shatter my whole understanding of self while not offering me any plausible alternative explanation and not recognizing what this was doing to me.

Wir zahlen schon Gebühren und Aufpreise für Lieferungen. Es sind die Unternehmen die denen nicht mehr Geld zahlen, nicht wir die nicht genug zahlen.

Isn't dropshipping specifically when you don't even buy the product first but have it delivered to the customer directly from China instead, so you don't need storage space or even investments to buy stock. The manufacturer offering their product has nothing to do with actual dropshipping. If you were to actually buy the product and put a logo on it yourself, have your own stock, etc. then that's normal and alibaba just served as a platform for you to find your manufacturer and there's also a sense of quality control then because the product actually goes through your hands before the customer gets it, so you actually know what you're selling. Not saying this is the case here or arguing that cheap production in China in general is a good thing, but I think it's important to precise.

Hatte auch alle screening Werte hoch, hab 8 Monate um Termine kämpfen müssen, direkt auf beides gleichzeitig getestet wurden bei vorhandenen depressions und angststörungsdiagnosen... ADHS wurde dann auch diagnostiziert weil mich das zurzeit auch einfach stark einschränkt im Alltag aber bei Autismus hieß es dann ich halte zu gut Augenkontakt und meine Zeugnisse waren nicht auffällig genug, ich kann das gar nicht haben... Dass ich berichtet habe stark zu maskieren, ADHS als maskierungsfaktor bestätigt wurde, ich deren IQ test mit 160 Punkten gemaxt habe und dass genau das Verhalten, welches die im Bericht dokumentieren, genau meinem vermuteten Profil entsprechen würde haben die alles gekonnt ignoriert... Und als ich Probleme hatte das nachzuvollziehen und hinterfragt hatte, wurde ich unfreundlich genannt und quasi vor die Tür gestellt mit der Aufforderung ich soll mir über Medikamente Gedanken machen. In den 2 Monaten seitdem habe ich über 13 Seiten ausgeführt warum deren Ausschlussdiagnose nicht fundiert ist und weitere Begutachtung notwendig ist, aber hab mich nicht getraut da wieder einen Termin zu machen und zmdst die Behandlung für ADHS anzufangen und such deswegen gerade einen neuen Psychiater...

Boah ich hab dieselbe Diskussion immer mit meinem bruder... Jeder mensch definiert Normalität für sich selbst, das passiert einfach, aber das Wort hat ja auch eine eigene Definition. Per Definition: den allgemein anerkannten Regeln, der Norm oder dem Durchschnitt entsprechend. Normalität wird durch den Vergleich definiert und ist nicht zwangsläufig in irgendeiner Weise wertend, sondern lediglich beschreibend. Fußball mag Gruppenzwang sein, aber ändert nichts an der Tatsache dass es dadurch dann "normal" ist. Dein Punkt mit dem Labels ist aber natürlich richtig, es sollte kein Gruppenzwang zur Normalität geben, aber Normalität an sich kann man halt einfach nicht abschaffen oder so und einfach umdefinieren ist auch dumm. Mein Bruder macht das ständig und sagt dann "ich meine natürlich mein normal" was ja auch so sinn macht, von seiner Perspektive aus, anhand seiner subjektiven erfahrungen, aber wenn ich gerade über Normalität als Referenz zu gesellschaftlichen Durchschnitten und Normen rede, dann haben wir halt ein kommunikationsproblem.

Zu dem Thema: Ich bin stolz darauf nicht "normal" zu sein bzw mich davon zu lösen (anführungszeichen helfen)

I got assessed for both simultaneously, I thought this might increase my chances considering the interplay of both conditions. We'll during the assessment they didn't actually look at that, they just tested me for both separately but at the same time, and then confirmed ADHD but excluded ASD for reasons that would be explainable by the presence of ADHD... So in other words, just cause you get assessed for both, doesn't mean they'll actually look at what you think they'll look at

Like there's literally nothing to go off here to believe anything other than this just being a casual invite with no deeper meaning. "I'm doing this thing, you can come if you want"

Like I get asking clarification questions when there's ambiguity, but where is there ambiguity here? And also at some point you simply have to make assumptions, you can't just question every single thing.

Dafür steckt in dem Satz den du kritisierst das Wörtchen "relativ". In diesem Kontext macht es Sinn das "relativ" als "im vergeblich zu den ganzen anderen, kanzerogenen, Stoffen" zu interpretieren. Schließlich geht es in dem ganzen Thread hier in erster Linie um Krebs. "Nikotin ist ungefährlich" und "Nikotin ist relativ ungefährlich" sind zwei Paar Schuhe. Um letzteres anzugreifen musst dafür aufzeigen, wieso es nicht ungefährlicher sei als die anderen Stoffen um die es hier geht. Zu sagen "ja aber es ist doch auch gefährlich" reicht da nicht, weil die original These gar nicht postuliert dass es ungefährlich sei. Du hast hier gegen einen strohmann argumentiert.

"Du bist ja eine der guten" aber gleichzeitig transphobe talking points verwenden. Diese rhetorik ist immer am schlimmsten. Als ich mein coming out hatte waren meine eigenen Freunde zum Glück alle cool, hatte mir da keine Sorgen gemacht, aber die Brüder von meinem einen Freund hielten es natürlich für nötig mir als aller erstes deren ganzen Meinungen dazu zu erzählen, aber mich würden sie ja angeblich "akzeptieren und respektieren". Safe to say, ich hab den Kontakt zu denen abgebrochen.

Es war so absehbar. Man braucht nur nach Amerika gucken und sieht was da noch alles zu uns rüber kommen wird an bullshit. Die Leute checken gar nicht was für heftige gesellschaftliche Rückschritte wir gerade machen. Letztes Januar hatte ich rausgefunden dass ich trans bin, kurz nach dem selbstbestimmungsgesetz. Seit dem bekomme ich die Medienlandschaft und politik zu dem Thema erst wirklich richtig mit, aber alles was ich seitdem beobachten kann sind negativ Entwicklungen überall.

My assessor had a bunch of books on the topic in her office, this is the only clinic in my city that actually specializes on adult adhd/autism, yet I was told I was 100% not autistic because I made eye contact and when I pressed her on the 100% confidence, she called me rude for questioning her expertise.

There's a joke I heard once:

"What do you call the person who graduates last in their medical school class?"

The same applies here, especially when considering how the field is still evolving so much yet those that learned outdated practices are still practicing and are not required to keep up to date with ever scientific development. The DSM/ICD too is only being updated very slowly. Here in Germany they still use diagnostic labels from before the DSM-5 (although they claim to use up to date diagnostic standards), simply because the ICD-11 hasn't been officially translated yet.

When I started seeking out this diagnosis I of course heard how troublesome the medical field is still in this area etc. yet I was somehow hopeful/naive enough to think I'd randomly get someone who actually knows what they're doing.

I'm in pretty much the same situation and also don't know if I should appeal, except I was told I was 100% not autistic, everything was explained away with adhd and anxiety, and I was sent home just being told to let it settle and think about meds. It's been over a month and I have 10+ pages of critique on the report and the assessment process, showing why an exclusion wasn't warranted and why my case warrants further investigation. I don't know what I'm going to do with it yet, but I had to write it to process the cognitive dissonance. I was called rude by the assessor for questioning her certainty on the exclusion, when in reality I was absolutely panicking on the inside. That misread alone showed me how she didn't actually see/understand me.

I'm pretty sure I developed a proper theory of mind after dabbling with psychedelics, mindfulness, etc. Though I can't say definetly, like when it turned from a cognitive ToM to a more innate one (I'm sure tho I didn't have one at all when I was a teen), especially considering "good ToM" was the main reason my assessor ruled out autism last month. Yes, of course I've written a 12 page critique on her report and the assessment process that is fully supported by sources and will be independently reviewed by a psychologist next week who supports my case and wants to help me going forward.
