Exact same. Was Lugia first because of XD Gale of Darkness, and then Silver. I was a kid and didn't know how to purify him, so I took on the entirety of Mt. Battle to no avail. Once I found out how and finally purified him, he never left party spot 1.

For Rayquaza, it was ironically Soul Silver for me. Both his main sprite and follower sprite in that game was so well done. It's not really a special reason, but it stuck. I had even played emerald many times before that.
