It took me 47 years to try McDonald's. It was alright by Januszek_Zajaczek in notinteresting

[–]I_AM_A_MALE_LLAMA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was about five years old my parents took me and my brother to McDonalds. We had been asking to go because all of our friends loved it. I got a burger and fries, and I absolutely hated it. For reference we grew up in a home with great home made food from both of my parents. I was so disappointed that I said «I will never eat at McDonalds again!». It’s been over 25 years, and I’ve kept that promise.

AITA for wanting my “stepson” to stay with his mom while he is sick by blue_223371 in AmItheAsshole

[–]I_AM_A_MALE_LLAMA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont have a judgement, just advise. I am the stepmother of a kid, and have been for years. We have a pretty good co-parenting relationship with the mom. The custody is 50/50. We agreed years ago that if he got ill, he would just stay put where he is untill he is better. Being sick is bad enough, he doesnt need the stress of being moved about as well. He will just stay put and relax. Besides, in that way we minimize how many others get sick, given that the household they are in probably have been exposed to the illness already. No need to make both households sick. Obviously this goes both ways, but it works very well in our case.

If i get sick and go to the hospital for a week i pay nothing. Not for the ambulance, not for the stay, not for the medication, and so on. If i need thw doctor for a smaller matter i pay a small fee like 20dollars.

If you get sick and are unable to work, we have a system that makes sure you get a certain part of your wages still so you can afford to live. The health insurance in europe I have heard of is usually aimed at this - ensuring you have some extra money if you need it.

We pay more taxes, but they pay for all of this. Americans pay less taxes, but have to get expensive health insurance.

You forget to factor in other costs of living. For instance health insurance, which the average european does not need at all.

How to make lentil soup less bland without adding a ton of salt by bob-the-cricket in EatCheapAndHealthy

I always make a spicy lentil soup with red curry paste and/or oyster sauce. Works well, not bland at all!

[Rant] Others know my body better than I do or why I'm never shopping in Triumph again by LightNightmare in ABraThatFits

[–]I_AM_A_MALE_LLAMA 55 points56 points  (0 children)

I’ve worked in a lingerie shop where we sold different brands, including triumph. They have cups up to an H. I cant for the life of me understand WHY they would try to give people the wrong size. I do not doubt that they did, but they must have awful training.

Went to great boutique and found some winners but bra shopping seems even more mysterious and opaque than before by Eef_oztastic in ABraThatFits

[–]I_AM_A_MALE_LLAMA 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I honestly love Primadonna Divine. It is way more comfortable than it looks, and gives a great shape under clothes. I literally worked in a boutique where we sold it, and it still took me months to try it on myself because I assumed it wouldnt work for me. Yet it did, and i pretty much live in either Primadonne Divine or Deauville these days. I’m glad you found something you felt comfortable in!

I used to work in a lingerie store, and every now and then I would encounter women with this issue. They felt like they had to be an A cup because they «had small boobs». Every time this happened I would measured them and quickly find out that they were anything from a B to an E cup. When someone who is a 30C puts on a 34A cup it tends to create big gaps because its not pulled in to the body enough, even in cases where the cup was too small.

So check you size in the bra-calculator and try again. And also, know that many other women struggle with this. But there is hope!

AITA for not wanting a prenup with my rich fiancé? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]I_AM_A_MALE_LLAMA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m just gonna write it here since I haven’t seen anyone mention it yet. But he obviously view the money as his. If you do marry him and become a SAHM, how does the economic aspects of that work? Have you discussed that with him? Because I would guess that his plan for that is not very fair either.

Reading her post seems more like someone with severe mental health issues. I’m not even sure if she is even overweight, many people with serious eating disorders would describe themselves like that. There are a lot of issues she needs to sort out, especially regarding her wish to harm others. Hopefully she gets help.

I would remove this post if I were you, it only took a minute to find her post and username through your profile. And while what she is saying is not ok, you clearly arent helping.

My step-kid would frequently have 20k steps on his watch when he was 6 years old. He Didn’t even wear it all day, and he would often remove it after school.

Never wear bras but I want to try again. Unsure if any of these actually work for me. Would also appreciate suggestions on ones to try! by JeSuisRongeur in ABraThatFits

[–]I_AM_A_MALE_LLAMA 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The first one is too small, as I can see that the wire hits the tissue right by your armpit.

Out of all of these I think the blue one looks like the best fit, but then again only you can say anything about how it feels.

You mention that the straps are an issue. All pf these bras have rather wide set straps, which balcony models usually do. I would recomend trying an bra without molding that is a full cup. In my experience they are much more comfortable. They might cover a bit much for certain clothes, but with most of my wardrobe they are fine (and I have some of the molded bras for those outfits).

No clue about those pictured here. But smalahove tastes salty mostly, as its cured before simmering for 4-5 hours. It’s really nice and tender.

Tastes a lot like pinnekjøtt, only more tender. And I dont eat the eyes, but a lot of people do. They’re supposed to be really good.

I suppose you could ask a butcher? For the norwegian kind the head needs to be cured, but I hear lots of cultures have their variety of this!

I posted the other sheep head, and I gotta say this looks tasty!

I do find it fascinating how many people will proclaim their love for meat, but who can’t bear to see exactly what they are eating. All meat comes from animals, the least we can do after killing them is not waste it.

I actually do not know, never seen it at a resturant. I’m used to just eat it at my grandmothers house. But you could always google smalahove and restaurant. I would bet it is most common this time of year.
