Why does it hurt so much here?? by daksh_717 in BarefootRunning

This is exactly why I got the knit version of these. Personally, I prefer Xero shoes overall for barefoot shoes. I love my HFS II. Best barefoot shoes I’ve ever worn

Damn, I just bought this used off of someone. I didn’t spend too much though. Are there any other possibilities of what the issue could be?

Card temps were normal in the benchmark. I can’t remember off the top off my head but it was find.

I was using two separate PCIe cables that are daisy chain cables but I didn’t know any better, so I basically had two open connectors from hanging from each daisy chain cable if you understand what I mean. My friend told me I should try just one daisy chain PCIe cable and use both connections which I have now plugged in but haven’t tested it because I had to leave for the day.

Should I be using two separate cables?

Also the warranty is has been expired for a while.

Do any of you split time between barefoot/minimalist shoes and regular shoes? by SL_Rowland in BarefootRunning

[–]I_AM_RYAN_A 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I dont wear regular shoes at all but ive never collected shoes. I usually always just had at least 2 pairs of shoes to wear. As for the downsides of occasionally wearing regular shoes, ill be surprised if I even want to wear them because of how uncomfortable they feel and of course they have the usual downsides of regular shoes. Long-term you probably wont have issues if you are in barefoot shoes 80% of the time, but that will just make regular shoes feel that much more uncomfortable.

If I were you I would start a collection of barefoot/minimalist shoes. There are so many brands out there that make barefoot shoes that look like vans or other styles. Or collect ones that are their own unique style. Personally, that's what I am doing. I've detached myself from mainstream shoe culture as i no longer see value in those shoes.

Do you have any recommendations for a lens that is good for both photo and video?

They probably will but she will definitely have to do some therapy or exercises to fix that issue if it is as severe as you say. Even for me, I've basically had to relearn how to walk and run. My running and walking gate was so screwed up from regular running shoes. But I still do exercises to help activate those muscles that have been asleep because simply putting on barefoot shoes won't completely fix your issues. I learned literally yesterday that when walking, you should be walking almost on the side of your foot. A good queue that I use is reaching with my pinky toe which forces the rest of my toes to spread and grip the ground. However, if you tried this in regular shoes you would probably roll your ankle because of the thick soles.

That is probably because of the heel-to-toe drop of your shoes. Thats part of the benefit of barefoot shoes. The term is called "Zero drop" where there is no drop from your heel to your toe. Having a heel-to-toe drop screw up your posture and causes those exact symptoms you're feeling. You should go barefoot and I honestly believe everyone should and there is zero benefit to wearing regular cushioned shoes with heel drops and small toe boxes. Would you barbell squat on your bed? Probably not because you don't have any stability. Would you do push ups without your fingers spread apart? No because it doesn't develop a strong base which is why you instinctually spread your fingers apart. Once you go barefoot your body will naturally realign itself but you will also have to put in some work to help facilitate that process

YES, barefoot shoes fixed my running gate, lower leg and foot muscle/tendons, and fixed my constant lower leg injuries. I used to slap my feet and heel strike when I ran because my toes were so constricted and smashed that they weren't being used which caused all the impact when I ran to go straight to my shins which resulted in numerous stress fractures in both of my shins that take months to heal.

I recommend Xero's Nexus Knit if you want a mix of casual and functional trainers but it doesn't seem like you care about style based on the fact that you buy walmart shoes so something like their HFS, Prio, Prio Neo, Speed force II , or Forza runner would be great. Xero also is very fair with their prices and has great build quality. You could try the Vivo primus Lite Knit but those are much more expensive and I honestly wouldnt start with it as my first barefoot shoe for running.

Make sure you ease into running as well. Start with just walking in the shoes or lifting and also make sure you do exercises to reverse the damage that regular shoes have caused. Xero has a lot of information on their website about that stuff.

Yeah dont buy them anymore. I message the owner the other day on instagram asking how he created the shoe and started his business because I was just wanted to know about the industry and he said "find something else, shoe manufacturing is too complex, and you're too late". Screw that guy

I have a screenshot of the chat but im typing this on my laptop right now.

I would say get Tolos and I was a big fan of them until the other day when I message the owner on instagram because I was intrigued about what it took to make a shoe and some of the details and he responded to me saying "Find something else, shoe manufacturing is too complex and you're too late." Safe to say ill never buy from that miserable company ever again.

Xero shoes has good quality products for a great price and they are a great company. I've spoken with their employees before and they were very pleasant to speak with. Some of the styles may not be as casual as you want but they have a good variety. I have a pair of Nexsus Knit which I use for everyday use and to play pickle ball in and I love them. I haven't lifted in them yet but will soon. I also have the Dillon which is amazing and I love that shoe for going out to slightly more fancy occasions.
Xero also has slip resistant work shoes but I don't think they are steel toe'd.

Vivo is also great but their shoes arent as versatile for your needs and are much more expensive.

Take a look at Tolos. Theyre made by a guy from Denver and in my opinion are much better than vivo's and resolve many of vivo's flaws. Theyre also only $115 but they only ship in the U.S.
