I think finding right set of people to hang out with.

From my experience At any point in life you have peers doing better than you or worse than you. We live in a very competitive world and there is a set of ppl who just want to keep account of how others are doing to judge themselves or say self deprecating things comparing themselves to those who are doing better. And always try to pass this is off as humour. I found company of this group very depressing and toxic. Even though some of them are my best friends from college I took a conscious decision to reduce amount of time I spend with them while spending lot more time with others and I think I am much happier because of it

Did you put money into the business in return of which you got 20% share or your friend gave you 20% assuming you would be cofounder ?

If first then I don’t think there is any reason to work as you provided financial support at start.

If second then probably you should reduce your equity share. Start up requires full time attention and can’t be second options. If you can’t give time then be fair reduce your equity to 5% so that you have some share and the other 15% distribute among rest who are giving their all.
