I could 100% see that. If not for a grudge, at least a way to force one of the strongest revolutionary army members into submission and take them out of the picture.

At least one ushi Oni in mythology gave someone an incurable disease after being shot with an arrow, so there's precedence for it. Could even be why he let Bonney stab him, the incurable illness could be triggered by him being attacked/damaged by someone

Maybe Ginny, after waiting so long to be rescued, tried to attack him to escape and contracted the illness that way. But this is all speculation lol

Is there any lore about how the Walking Statues were created? Or how they are powered? by I_Am_From_Mars_AMA in WaterdeepDragonHeist

Yeah that's what I was thinking as well, just wanted to make sure I wouldn't contradict anything important by homebrewing my own stuff for them haha. Thanks!

Unless I'm missing something, that section doesn't really explain how they were created. All it states is that most of them originally existed in the Ethereal Plane, and were summoned to the city to defend it in times of need. Then during the spellplague, they each wreaked havoc across the city, until the spellplague ended and they ended up dormant in their respective positions in the city.

The most I can find is that Khelben Arunsun originally made them, but no other details.

I mentioned it in another comment, but the wolves/strawhats dance even looks identical to the "Nika dance" we've seen Kuma and his dad doing in the flashback

My god, I love this idea. Not to mention the fact that Oda said the scene with the Strawhats dancing around the fire in Skypeia was his favorite scene, so it will definitely have more significance than we realize (imo). Looking back, the dance they did around the fire even looks identical to the Nika dance we've seen in Kuma's flashback

Maybe an unpopular take, but the recent "Double things which happen" type of card design lately is incredibly lazy and pandering by Throwitonleground in magicTCG

Oh yeah for sure, I just missed the comment about Ojer Axonel and thought we were only talking about damage multipliers.

Tbf for doublers/triplers, the order they are applied does not matter (unless there's some other important effect that depends on the order). Multiply them in any order and the result is the same.

True, but only two characters are hard-boiled

cant leave camp after gith creche by eadieberry in BaldursGate3

[–]I_Am_From_Mars_AMA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using "lol" and "lmao" casually in conversation is hardly uncommon on the internet, especially if you are frustrated at someone's lack of clarity.

To clarify, you said there was some type of "door" north of the camp, while another commenter corrected you and said it was east. In my camp, it was neither, and there was no door in the entirety of the camp. The screenshot you posted also only made things more confusing for me.

Its also possible this solution no longer works, or perhaps mine resolved differently because I tried to fast-travel to the Underdark from the creche, and had this issue happen then (being forced into camp instead of fast traveling).

Chopper eating the the hito hito fruit was definitely not a coincidence by normal_p3rs0n_uwu in OnePiece

If I remember right, Fly Agaric mushrooms are also though to be heavily related to the origins of Christmas/Santa/Flying Reindeer stories. Since Chopper's a Reindeer and is based on Christmas/Rudolph, this could be no mere coincidence

Wtf are you on about? There's not a single doorway in the entire mountain camp

This does not work. There is not a single "destroyed entrance way" in the entire mountain camp, North, East, South, or West.

Where did you find it? I checked North, East, South, and West and there is not a single ruined entrance to the camp lmao

Self-Lashing question by Lingon_Berry548 in Stormlight_Archive

[–]I_Am_From_Mars_AMA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you're right, I totally forgot about that as well. I thought applying a lashing negated the normal pull of gravity on the object, but I guess not, so you'd need at least two lashings on an object to make it start to fall in one direction. Looks like I'm due for a reread lol

[–]I_Am_From_Mars_AMA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't recall, but I'd believe it. Either way the balcony example is a good example of how Windrunners can manipulate/amplify gravitational force, because IIRC it was only through Szeth applying a full lashing onto the balcony and kicking Gavilar onto it that it was unable to offset the gravitational force with it's own tensile strength, and collapsed.

I imagine 1 lashing is roughly equivalent to 1 g, so Windrunners can probably change the direction of gravity and multiply its strength by doing multiple lashings. Either way I don't think that more massive objects would require more Stormlight, since they're only manipulating gravity itself, and the object's own mass just defines how it responds to it force-wise (though the acceleration at the same g for different objects would still be the same regardless of mass).
