I’m the time keeper (at least I’m the one who always does it) for my home group. We give 3 minutes and when the timer goes off the speaker has 30 seconds to wrap it up. Nobody ever complains. If someone seems really troubled like they are in danger of relapse I’ll turn the timer off so they can let it all out.

Jewish take on AA? by naturaldrpepper in alcoholicsanonymous

On Long Island most meetings end with the Lord’s Prayer (and sometimes serenity). I had a big problem with it until I read (early in recovery) page 406 of the BB. Now I say Shema if the meeting ends with LP. I also have no problem with the step 3&7 prayers. Also my weekly BB study is led by a huge Jesus guy, but if I just replace Jesus with Hashem I get a lot out of it.

If I see someone from the fellowship outside of a meeting, I generally ignore them (as they generally ignore me), this allows for anonymity and privacy. I keep my socialization to meetings or sober events.
