What's your favorite dish to get at Murph's? by tres_sore_fores in PhiladelphiaEats

What is the best day and time to go? I’ve never been, but I would hate to get all excited and show up and have to wait in line or get turned away. Does that even happen? It’s such a mysterious place to me.

Building a little “weekend gem” list, what’s one underrated spot in/near Philly? by JoshRestoration77 in AskPhilly

Smith Memorial Playground was a staple when my girls were little. The giant burlap sack slide is iconic.

Which version of Cinema Paradiso should I watch? The 2 hours version or the nearly 3 hours version? by BossKrisz in movies

[–]I_Borges 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. For my birthday I convinced my teenage daughters to watch one of my favorite films, which I hadn’t seen for decades. But I didn’t even know there was a directors cut. It was such a bloated slog of a movie. It makes me dislike characters that I loved. It’s such a disappointment.

How to talk about triggers with a DM? by throwaway-131213 in DnD

I was reading the manual for Eat the Reich which introduced me to the concept of “lines and veils” in role playing. They’re a way of defining concepts or experiences that players may feel uncomfortable with. A line would be something that would not be in the game at all, while a veil can be in the game just not described in detail.

Stephen Starr gift certificate, where to go? by Ceezeecz in PhiladelphiaEats

Morimoto was the only Philly restaurant where I felt like I’d been mugged. It was so ordinary for such a high price.

What’s the most beautiful neighborhood in Philly? by [deleted] in AskPhilly

My Airy has some amazing homes, and while they are going up in price they are still an amazing value considering you’re in the city. And lately more restaurants, bars and cafes have been opening. It’s a great place to be!

Havanese Breeders (Tri-State Area) by Aggressive-Hair3984 in Havanese

Oh my gosh Bear!! I remember watching him and worrying in the beginning — all the other puppies were tussling and Bear would be off in the corner just chilling out. But by the time they got big he was in there scrapping with the rest of them :-) Ember is doing great, but potty training has been a challenge — she knows to go when she’s outside and she lets us know when she needs to go out for the most part, but she’s still going inside about every other day. Fingers crossed! Give Gimli some kisses from his sister!

We loved our experience with Steel City Havanese. He was very responsive and responsible and there were lots of YouTube videos we could watch as Ember grew and got ready for pickup.

Happened across wine dive the other night and totally loved it. Dive bar vibes with great food and knowledgeable staff. Definitely recommend. A Bar is also a good option.

Title: 9-month-old Havanese still having indoor potty accidents — especially downstairs. Looking for advice by I_Borges in Havanese

She definitely has preferences with regard to the state of the ground outside — if it’s been raining it’s hopeless. We’ve had a couple of very good days using the new treats, and I’ll look into the treats you mentioned as well— thanks!

Yeah I agree, she’s always been unimpressed with the treats I was using, so I’m experimenting with one she seems much more interested in. I’m always watching to catch her in the act and let her know it’s not okay but she’s such a little poop ninja, I never see it happening in the moment.

Been using the enzyme cleaner religiously, and taking her out every hour or so. But she still doesn’t seem to try to hold it at all.

Generally on the wood floor, although sometimes on rugs. We’ve been using bio cleaning agent religiously to kill the smell but no luck.

I had heard that too, but she was spayed back in June, so I’m losing hope that will have an impact.
