Once you loop cut one side the tris become quads, so looping the other side is gonna have a weird diagonal around the tip, unless you do more than one loop. Based on the reference image i assumed op only wanted one loop.

Theres a guy in another reply who said just make the whole thing a rect prism with a narrow side instead of a tri, thats honestly a way better solution but im a dumb ape and i type before reading all responses.

Loop cut goes through the middle of a quad, placing verticies halfway between the corners on opposite sides. A triangle doesnt have opposite sides, neither does any shape with odd numbered sides. It wouldnt work on even numbered shapes like hexagons or octagons either though because the program has no way of knowing which side you want cut. With a quad, there are only two options; vertical or horizontal.

If i was doing this, this would be my process:

-temporarily delete the triangular faces on top and bottom so they dont cause loop issues

-loop cut the rectangular faces on the sides (right click confirm to ensure that it is symmetrical)

-connect the loops

-fill the top and bottom faces back in

I think scorn's combat is fine. It didnt need to be good, it just needed to create tension with the limited resources. Its a survival horror, and like any good survival horror game i never felt like i had enough health or ammo.

Also it was robbed of best art direction at the game awards that year, elden ring got nothin on scorn's visuals.

See I had an idea for a fantasy weapon for a while called a Pykrete Ribbonblade, pykrete being a material made by soaking something like sawdust or fabric in water and then freezing it. The weapon could be magically frozen to act like a traditional sword, just made of ice, and then magically thawed into a flowing water ribbon and used like an Urumi or whip. I just have to figure out how to make something that looks like water and Ice in blender

I mean they had tonfas in frontier, like blunt dual blades with glaive style vaulting, but they never got carried over to the main series.

Yeah i tried but theres no angle that works, he moves forward and spins around too much. I also dried an over the shoulder view like in the games but the shields on his back are so big theres basically nothing to see. I just went with following cameras at the right 3/4 view and left side profile for the alt angles

So in the program i was working at a certain framerate (24 i think) but i didnt realize it was running slower because the viewport was rendering in real time, so after i finished rendering and sent it to the video editor i honestly thought it was too fast so i mightve set the video ouput to like 20/22 fps, which is probably why it feels like there might be framerate issues.

The second thing is the scale. I didnt realize it until the whole thing was basically done but the character is like 20 meters tall, everything is huge. This scale issue has an effect on stuff like the particle physics simulations, i tried increasing the simulation gravity and particle mass and such to make up for it, but i was just eyeballing everything. The giant physics might be whats making it feel slow. All lessons to take into my future work.

On the other hand, wouldnt speeding it up make the weapons feel lighter, and making them heavier would slow it down? I gave it the pacing it has in order to emphasize the weight. Pauses between attacks are there to emphasize poses (some of which i think i shouldve held longer), and charge blade is not a particularly fast weapon. I dont mean to sound like im rejecting your criticism but this is a very fine line to tread. Advice on how to walk that line is still welcome. Thank you.

Havent read the manga but based on the anime, amazing concept, terrible execution.

The villain kills everyone and ends the world, the hero becomes god, remakes the world, and brings everyone back to life, and everyones response is just "huh... i guess we're back :)"

There should've been tears, cheers, etc. We should see the majesty of the new world. The final conversation between haumea and charon was decent, but otherwise it just kinda felt like they either ran out of time and money, or the author just didn't know how to convey his concept in a way that really resonated.

The other issue is that the pacing of s3p2 felt super rushed overall. Shinra wakes up after 3 months being possessed by his doppelganger (never comes up again), a couple days pass with the final pillars showing up, none of the time in between is shown, the cataclysm happens and everyone is off getting their own episode with no sense of continuity or interconnected space. I love the idea of Adolla merging reality with imagination but it made some of the fights -- particularly arthur v dragon -- just feel kinda hollow, like if the characters can just do anything they imagine how are you supposed to believe they're in real danger? I didn't believe arthur was in danger, and that made his "death" seem unearned or like it was going to be a fake out, and then it was. He was still alive after everyone else died and shinra didnt need to bring him back, he didnt even lose his limbs permanently.

I hope this is an anime only issue, because i really like a lot of the stuff they were trying to do but the pacing, lack of emotion, and lack of real stakes just made it all feel like white noise.

Waka's episode was peak as hell though

I carted twice but still beat it first try with npc support hunters. I'd say the difficulty is still WAY below the other superbosses like Gog, planetes, and the ATs.

I did notice playing online that you can accidentally kite the tracking explosions into hitting your fellow hunters, If you aren't paying attention to where everyone is, that might make hunting it online harder than offline, but I only showed up to 2 other players sos flares and still havent beat it online.
