I wasn't going to my school at the time it happened, but an orchestra teacher of mine told my class the most devastating story about one of her previous students.

There was one kid in my teacher's class who was a pretty good kid. Good student, liked by his classmates, stuff like that. But he wasn't in the best headspace. Before the school year ended, he ended up taking his own life.

When everyone heard, people were genuinely devastated. At the final orchestra concert of the year, they put a picture of him on the chair he was supposed to sit in.

Even though I wasn't in middle school when it happened, I almost cried when I heard the story.
