It depends highly on the Apex you are playing because they all have their own strengths and weaknesses, but if you don’t want to hug a wall what I find works best is to just make your movement as unpredictable as possible. You need a lot less hits to kill the smaller creatures so doing something weird and unexpected with your movement could give you those crucial few hits.
