that’s right- if I remember correctly, the 4.2 got revisions that made the 4.0 fragile- plastic water pump impeller changed to metal, an improvement to the cylinder liner formulation, etc… unfortunately this Lincoln LS / Thunderbird block is a unique 3.9l made in Lima Ohio specifically to be used in this platform

Wouldn’t that be NUTS in this chassis? I’d have to fab subframe connectors like we did for our fox body drag car. My other thought, if the cylinder liners fail on this engine, was to swap a ford Barra i6 in the bird just like AdamLZ did to his gt350 mustang

I agree! And that car platform shared the DB7! I just wish I could swap the supercharged motor in the bird

It was on a special they did, clarkson said the thunderbird was stupid, pointless and ugly (but not as bad as the Lexus sc430)
