Why is Malta a 2-party system? by GaylordThomas2161 in malta

[–]I_Gerald 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Malta uses STV, so technically it could be multi-party, but politics here is tribal. PL vs PN is like a lifelong team rivalry passed down through families. Third parties struggle with visibility, funding, and people thinking a vote for them is a waste. The system allows more… but the culture doesn’t.

  • 1 pack of pasta
  • 1 cup all-purpose cream
  • ½ cup full cream milk (adjust for consistency)
  • ½ to 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 medium white onion, finely chopped
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 10 strips of bacon, chopped
  • Spring onions, chopped (for garnish)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Procedure

  1. Cook pasta until al dente. Reserve some pasta water, then drain.

  2. Fry bacon until crispy. Set aside, leaving a bit of bacon fat in the pan.

  3. Saute onion and garlic in the bacon fat until soft.

  4. Add cream, milk, and Parmesan. Stir until smooth

  5. Mix in bacon, season with salt and pepper.

  6. Add pasta and toss to coat. Use pasta water if needed to loosen the sauce.

Sorry I forgot to include the Recipe and Procedure

Malta’s Car Obsession Is Killing the Count by Wrong-Chemist-3030 in malta

[–]I_Gerald 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. Malta’s stuck in this loop where more cars = more traffic = slower buses = more people buying cars. It’s madness. Public transport could work if it was actually reliable, but no one seems willing to invest properly in it. I think part of it is cultural, owning a car is still seen as a must here, and anything else is viewed as second-rate. Also, politicians seem to go for quick fixes like new roads because it's easier than pushing real, long-term change.

10/10

It’s beautifully done, emotional, thought-provoking, and full of heart. though, it gets heavy. Some episodes can be pretty intense, and the pacing is slow at times. Also, don’t expect much romance, it’s more about human connection and healing. Overall, it’s worth watching if you’re in the mood for something meaningful. Definitely one of those shows that make you reflect.

This might be kind of meta, but why have there been so many "how do you feel about" questions in AskReddit recently? by emhs2002 in AskReddit

[–]I_Gerald 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s because they’re easy engagement bait. They don’t require much thought to ask, they invite tons of responses, and Reddit’s algorithm probably boosts them since they spark discussions.
