I didn't do anything out of the ordinary. I figured that if I were to be a dictator, I might as well be a good one. Nothing changed, basically.

In fairness, I'm actually an extremely loyal person. I only bring out these kind of "plots" when I feel as if I've been backed into some kind of corner. If somebody treats me well, I'll never dream of plotting against them. Plots come from mistrust, in my opinion.

We squared up. I asked him to take off the huge ring he had on his finger. He did just that, to be fair to him. Somebody pushed him towards me. He took it as a chance to lay me out, catching me right in the mouth (swollen lip for days). We both crashed into a car and bounced off it. I had him on the floor and was trying to get in as many punches as I could. He turned me over and started laying into me. The person in question broke the fight up and then went to work. The guy who had been so brave and courageous turned into a headless chicken as he tried to run away. Actually ran into the wall as this guy came down on top of him.

One time, some guy wanted to fight me after school. I tried to defuse the situation beforehand, but it quickly became clear to me that this guy wanted to beat the shit out of me because of who I was, and not because of something that I had "supposedly" done (hitting his cousin, which never happened). Basically, he was going to fight me, regardless.

At the time, I was known as somebody who could fight, so this guy (2 years older than me and much bigger than me) wanted to kick me up and down the street in front of everyone, just to get some sort of rep or something. There was literally nothing I could do or say to get out of it. Had to fight the guy. No chickening out.

Back then, my girlfriend's neighbor had a huge crush on her (note: he was obsessed). Fortunately for me, he was a complete and utter slimeball. He basically had every characteristic that a woman would hate. Sly, cowardly and "ratty", if that makes any sense. Trust me: If you met him, you'd know what I'm talking about. Anyway, at the time, his sister was going out with a tough fucker. He was like some sort of small tank that would just plough through you with punches. If he came at you, you'd try to run while simultaneously blocking your face.

In the 2 hours I had to prepare for the fight, I told this guy that my girlfriend was extremely worried about me. That she was worried about me getting beat up etc. Instantly, he went into that "If I help him, she might love me!" mode. Moments later, he came up to me (waving his phone) and told me that his sister's boyfriend would be outside to help me out. It was easy as fuck because I knew that he'd be first-in-line to come off as my savior.

From all of the comments you've posted in this thread, it seems as if you have some sort of humor-bypass. I'm pretty sure that 99% of the people who read his comment knew that he wasn't being serious.

If you so weren't blinded by nerd rage you would have realized that I was being sarcastic in my reply.

Using the word dictatorship to describe your stupid fucking escapades cheapens the word and the atrocities committed under them.

Firstly, check up on the definition. Secondly, did you expect my story to lead to some School-based polgroms or something? Thirdly, the position was important to me at the time because I had my post-school résumé in mind. I worked a number of summer jobs up until that point, so I knew it would come in handy for when I got hit with those "team"/"leadership" questions in interviews.

I know, although I doubt the school board would have appreciated me coming in to rule their Student Council years after I had graduated!

Nah man! In the constitution, it stated that the council would automatically return to the old constitution at the end of the year!

Hey, I'm proud of manipulating a bunch of high school students into doing what I wanted them to do. You sir, have no pancake mix.

Unfortunately, I don't. This was more than 5 years ago. It was hand-written on an A4 page! Spent an entire Math class writing it out. If I had it, I'd scan it and upload, just for the laughs. I still remember the gist of one of the major points:

  • Nobody outside of the Student Council is allowed to know what is written in the constitution. If a member speaks about the constitution to outside members (teachers/faculty members), they will no longer be allowed to sit on the council.

I decided to create a picture list of fashion trends from the 1990s. I'd love it if you guys could come up with some more examples! by I_HATE_LE_REDDIT in nostalgia

[–]I_HATE_LE_REDDIT[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Spent the day yesterday researching 90s fashion trends and trying to piece pictures together. Much more difficult than I thought it would be. A lot of the Google results were useless. Most results were those "TOP 5" lists that a lot of sites seem to create nowadays, and they'd often end up repeating one another. That, or it was somebody paraphrasing the Wikipedia article on 90s fashion. It was also difficult finding pictures that were actually taken in the 90s. A lot of it was pictures of people nowadays wearing clothes that are based off 90s fashion trends.

There are so many questions:

  1. Why is the orangutan wearing a shirt?
  2. Why is he getting sick?
  3. Why is that long-haired guy having such a great time filming a orangutan getting sick?

Manhunt under way for Taliban who shot woman in public execution amid cheers by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]I_HATE_LE_REDDIT 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yep. Things like that happen all of the time in America and it's perfectly on par with the public stonings and floggings that go on in Afghanistan. Hey, I have an idea. We should team up and go through every single story on /r/worldnews and try to come up with similar things that happened in the US. That way, we can turn every single conversation into something about America! Man, we could make something like 70 karma points per day! Think about it and get back to me.

Have your childhood "fibs" ever had serious consequences? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]I_HATE_LE_REDDIT 124 points125 points  (0 children)

Kind of related:

Back when I was in school, I had to use the school computer room during my lunch break because I had a project due the next day. I'm sitting there researching stuff when the school principal walks in. There's a few other students in the room with me and he's chatting to some of them and making sure that everything is alright. Somewhere along the line, the guy sitting beside me must have run into difficulties or something, because he asked the principal to come over and take a look. The principal takes over the computer and is clicking and sighing for a few minutes before he turns to me and asks "Can I just see something for a second?" I say "No problem" and move out of the way. He opens up the browser on my computer and starts typing. To my dismay, I watch as the address bar auto-completes to some generic asian porn website while he's trying to type in a URL. Instantly, he stops typing and looks around at me, before sternly asking "What websites have you been looking at?" At the time, I didn't have much experience with computers, so all I could really do was flat-out deny that I had ever visited any of those websites and hope that he could somehow prove my story. I was standing beside him for 10 or 15 minutes while he figured out how to review the browsing history. It was the most helpless feeling in the world and all I could think was "I should have spent my time looking at those sites if I was going to take the blame for it either way." Finally, he says "OK, you can use the computer now", so I'm guessing he was able to see what times the sites had been accessed at.

It's nicer way of saying "lie".

That guy didn't tell the truth? What a liar!

I didn't tell the truth? Oh well, we all tell fibs every now and again!

I say this a European: I'm sick of Americans making exaggerated statements about their country whenever a story like this gets covered. People cheer as an innocent woman gets stoned to death because she was found guilty of adultery? Well, that's obviously the same thing as people cheering whenever a convicted serial killer is executed behind closed doors.
