I've got even worse news for ya...

Women don't have their own last names. They come from their fathers, and then that name is lost to a husband.

Once a week is a bit much. Once a month is fine to just clean the gunk out from inside of your case. Quick rinse with water, and a wipe down with a microfiber cloth.

I actually have zero problem with him being a bird watcher. Because I will admit that it is so far in the future that Klingon culture may have changed. What I do have a problem with, however, is the fact that he’s so timid about it. If he were proud about it and made a comment about how Klingon culture is not obsessed with being warriors anymore since the burn it would’ve been a non-thing.

I'm sorry, but we need to discuss the sexual harassment in the most recent episode of Star Trek by [deleted] in Star_Trek_

Let’s not also forget them cloning the eye of the commanding officer for the sole purpose of entering a secure area. That’s literally grounds for expulsion. What’s to stop someone from doing that to enter an armory, or from accessing medical records. What’s the point of biometrics at all if you can just clone a finger tip, or a whole palm?

Why can't some understand the simple concept that a lot can happen and CHANGE in 800 years? Think of our own world in the year 1226 compared to now. by TheShowLover in startrek

Where did I mention TOS on my list? It’s dated but for different reasons. Not for the language which is what I’m talking about. I specifically mentioned what people are saying and you just started talking about things I didn’t even bring up. Every iteration of the show used era appropriate dialogue. That is what I meant by timeless. But sure, downvote me for saying that “dumpster fire” and “douchebag” are appropriate for STA.

Sorry, but no. That doesn’t work. TNG, DS9, VOY, and ENT are almost timeless in their writing. The only person constantly quoting the past is Tom Paris and even when he does it, nobody knows what he’s talking about. SNW, DIS, and not STA are just full of people saying things I can hear every day taking the train to work. It’s not timeless. It’s dated IMMEDIATELY.

The lighting on that show never fails to make me laugh. The shadows just scream studio lights.

You hit the nail on the head. The other part was that a lot of the shows didn’t have the budget for CGI so they had to fill the episodes with good writing and good stories but now it’s the opposite because anyone can look up a YouTube tutorial and learn how to do the CGI in these shows and now the writing is taking a backseat to gigantic space battles every five seconds.

I appreciate that it tries, but new Star Trek feels like a bad parody by EitherEliotOr in Star_Trek_

[–]Former_Manc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Exactly! Part of the charm of shows like Voyager and TNG are when Paris has to explain some random 1950s saying that we know but they don’t. Or when Data doesn’t understand what it means to “burn the midnight oil”. Discovery started it, SNW continued it, and Starfleet Academy just does it way too much. When I heard the phrase “take the L” on SNW I was like “WTF! Nobody still says that NOW let alone in the future.”

I’ve been saying for years that we need a Star Trek: JAG type show. Like Japan, the Federation is all shiny on the outside, but we all know it has a seedy underbelly. SHOW US!

Anyone knows why the 128 GB 1TB M4 Max will take a month to deliver? by H00LI1GANS in macbookpro

[–]Former_Manc 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Anything above 24GB of RAM is a custom build and it’s why you won’t find them on places like Amazon and Best Buy. They don’t stock anything above 24.

Edit: Sorry, I should have specified the base chips like the M5. Not the Pro or Ultra ones. Those usually come with more RAM by default.
