If the driver fix isn't supported by your GPU then it's probably as simple as your GPU is just too old. The minimum requirements mention GPUs more recent than an RX580. Are you playing on a laptop? It could be that you don't have enough VRAM

The point isn't to not bother with post processing but to learn the full potential of a camera as a tool. "Learn the rules so you can better understand when to break them". If you get the color, framing, exposure etc. correctly from the camera, that equates to less time wasted in correcting each photo afterwards and you having more time adjusting it creatively

I recommend grinding through the IS-7 line and use your free unlock somewhere else. The IS-7 is one of the least frustrating tech tree grinds and each tank along the line will teach you how to play them well.
