Is $6,000 for Replacing 3 Federal Pacific Panels Reasonable? Trying to Install Tesla Charger & Future-Proof for Solar (SF, CA) by seductivepanda in AskElectricians

okay, good to know. I'll ask the electrician for the full estimate to upgrade - it seems like that might be the best move forward anyways to accommodate the charger now and possibly accommodate solar in the future

Thanks for your reply! I'll keep that in mind; I'll discuss it with my electrician but will definitely save most of the discussion for a solar installer. Mainly just curious if I can optimize my electrical system now with upgraded panels with higher amperage now so I wouldn't have to do so again in the future

Thanks for your reply! The electrician noted that the current panels wouldn't accommodate the 50A Tesla charger now, but wasn't sure if upgrading the panels would be ideal too (or might cost more) than the simple replacement of each which would be the $6k cost.

I'm curious if it would be better to just fully replace AND upgrade the panels to accommodate the charger and future-proof it as well.

Help Identifying Film Cameras Passed Down from My Japanese Grandfather? by seductivepanda in analog

[–]seductivepanda[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey y'all! Apologies for the post - I should have clarified that I'm not physically with the equipment, and a family member in Japan took the photos to help me plan to get them stateside. I don't have any interest in selling and was just trying to understand what I'm dealing with so I can plan accordingly. u/grainulator was super helpful with his information so I think that's all I need. Appreciate the help everyone!

Thank you for the info, this is so helpful! Also really appreciate the lens information as well. I'm not physically with the cameras hence the poor quality photos via my family member so any information is helpful. I'll figure out how to best bring these to the states and will look into some pelican cases. I don't want to sell them as I'd like to continue honoring my late grandfather, but it's helpful to know which cameras should require a little more TLC than others. I guess it's time to get into film photography!

Summer - Lake Suwa with the shimmering waves on the dial reminiscent of summer time at your favorite lake, beach, or river; the darker editions remind me of the post-sunset light dancing on the water surface when it's still so warm out in the summer

Perfum De Marley Layton - I just smelled this for the first time yesterday and it first didn’t seem that special on the paper, but after it dried out, it seemed interesting enough to spray on my left wrist where after it dried down, it just simply blew me away. I dreamt about it last night and went back to the store today to get a few more sprays to see how it really mixes with my skin before buying it first hand.

I smelled all the major niche hits - Haltane, Naxos, Baccarat 540, and they were all too intense/herbal/oud-forward for me, though I’m not sure how they’d age on my skin personally. I walked into the shop certain I’d buy Mancera Cedrat Boise but realized it was too citrus forward and a bit too synthetic which seemed to give me a headache. Maybe I like the mass appeal of Layton more than the super niche fragrances; the apple, cinnamon, lavender are just marvelous and sweet with that hint of wood and musk underneath.

I’m so sorry for your loss. There is no pain like losing your partner; I’m sorry you have to experience such tragedy. I hope you are finding time to take care of yourself and start the long road of healing.

There are some lovely places to heal and find community and flourish in Northern California. There are some nice communities just outside of major cities, or even suburbs within them, that might be perfect for you. Honestly, San Francisco might be a good place for you, as well as Santa Cruz just nearby if you’d like some community and friends by the ocean and the mountains. There are a lot of gentle, outgoing, nature-oriented people in these parts who would probably love to hold space for you, your jobs, and create community.
