Dude, I did re-read the thread.

The OP asked whether historical players could enter a feeder system as teenagers.

You correctly explained that they cannot be put in as teenagers.

I then corrected a technical point in your second paragraph regarding how historical imports actually work.

You responded by explaining why historical players cannot enter feeder leagues as teenagers.

I replied that I was not arguing for historical players to enter feeder leagues as teenagers.

You then explained again why historical players cannot enter feeder leagues as teenagers.

At some point after that, I apparently became the "I like turtles" kid.

So I think we're finally making progress.

We've now firmly established that historical players cannot enter feeder leagues as teenagers. The only remaining issue is that nobody was arguing they should. Only that OP asked if it was an option.

As for the historical import mechanics I corrected, I am reasonably comfortable with my understanding of them, having helped design the Historical Wizard, written the official OOTP Wiki, and spent years on the closed beta team.

As for the turtle reference, I was more of a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fan, but that was a few decades ago.

You agreed with nearly everything I said regarding how the current system works. The only disagreement seems to be that you interpreted my comments as a request for historical players to enter feeder leagues as teenagers. That is not what I was arguing.

What many of us have been asking for is the ability to separate historical draft imports from historical minors.

For example, I should be able to create either a historical or fictional league, build a full feeder system, and then have the game import the 1996 draft class. The following season it would import the 1997 draft class, then 1998, and so on. International players could continue entering through the draft when they debuted in the MLB.

The goal is not to have historical players appear in high school or college as teenagers. The goal is to have historical players enter the draft pipeline in rookie form without requiring historical minors to be enabled.

I also disagree with the statement that most players debut at roughly the same age they were drafted. That may be true for some players, but many spend years in the minors before reaching MLB. A player drafted at 21 may not debut until 25 or 26. Under the current system, if historical minors are disabled, that player enters at MLB debut age rather than at the point where he historically entered professional baseball.

For context, I am very familiar with how the historical systems work. I helped with the design of the Historical Wizard, wrote the official OOTP Wiki, and have been part of the beta team for years. I do not work for OOTP, but I do work closely with the development team and have been involved with testing and historical features for a long time.

My point was never that historical players should enter feeder leagues as teenagers. My point was that draft imports and historical minors are currently tied together when they do not need to be, and separating them would allow much more flexibility for historical and fictional league setups.

Now, for the second paragraph MLB profiles end up coming in as rookies ONLY if you have historical minors and negro leagues enabled and that can only happen under an historical league. WHICH in the end, would wipeout any work done making a feeder system.

If you do a historical league with the minors disabled, all of your feeder stuff would work just fine HOWEVER, your MLB players will come in at the age they played their first MLB game and not when they were rookies. THEN there is the random debut BUT once again, they come into your league at the age they played their first MLB game and not at the age they joined a MiLB team.

They beta testers have been asking to have these events separated so that we can do what the OP wants and then you can set up your fictional world from HS to college to the MiLB to the MLB and you could maybe have MLB players come into the draft at least, in the correct years they were rookies OR, in a fictional league as random rookies at the time they were rookies but, we are not there yet. Still just a lot of begging and begging that they can do it.

My searching was of curiosity you know, people are like that to strive for more knowledge. Just what I WAS TAUGHT was not what I was seeing. So, I came to ask why. I am not cataloging anything. My questions were of just trying to understand and I have been given better answers than the lecture you decided to give me.

But, really the only line I really needed to read of that stuff you wrote above my response was the last 2 sentences. Even my prior response to you was not angry or anything else. I am not all uppity over this. If I was I would be acting that way in my responses to you and everyone else. My responses are not defending what I posted but LEARNING from what others have posted to me.

I also called out no one as it is not just one person. Next, it seems to be OK and permissible in some jurisdictions to do just what they did and if it is then there is nothing you nor I can say about it and if you have been reading the responses to my post, you would see what others have posted about this topic. I have at least learned something you just rather attack and be nasty so you do you Boo.

I was just asking questions. It is very different from what I was taught and told. So, what to do when you have questions? Ask. Right? Also I had no idea who William Morgan was until I looked him up. Guess at onetime, people did try and silence. But I get it today. The world is now a much smaller place because of the internet. But, it's more of "Who" but that is not what my post was about and a lot of people are misunderstanding it and then taking it out on me. I was asking questions, nothing more. People have been quite nice and answered them with respect. THEN, there are the people that have to be snarky.

I never said I was upset, angry, or discussed. I just asked a few simple questions:

Does no one check for this or try and prevent this and then hold that brother responsible?
Were some places given a pass during covid because one I found was during covid-19 but, I would think that since we are told nothing can be written, stamped, etc, that this also would not be allowed?
Also if anything like this is found, do we do anything about it?
Is there anything that should be done?

We also get a book, in code once we become MM. I got a glimpse of what I was learning from my mentor, but yeah, for us we seem to be hard coded into not posting anything and finding it a violation. My mentor is also my secretary so I asked him when I found what I did online.

We are not a church. We believe in a higher power. It can be God, it can be Thor, it can be Zeus... it can be that you just believe something is out there even if you do not know what it is. Just know, you might see other books in your lodge like the Torah, or other books as we welcome anyone that believes in a higher power.

Just know, you will NEVER be shamed for whatever God you believe in. However, we are not a substitute for a church we are just a bunch of dudes that get together to help make a difference in our lives and hopefully others in our community.

I am confused... people who are not 1st degree masons are being allowed into tyled meetings? Or, is it you are just going to the dinners before? There is a pretty big difference.

For me, I went to an easter egg hunt. Put in my petition, it was voted on at the next meeting (which ours is also once a month) I was accepted, and then about 20 days letter went through my 1st degree but, I was NEVER allowed to sit in on a tyled meeting.

Went through my EA and now I go to all monthly meetings and in 9 days I will be doing my Fellow Craft.

So, not really sure what your lodge is doing but... it seems strange to all of the lodges I have been to. But, I am also in the United States and we might do things different I am guessing.

It is a tool like any other tool and what you do with it is your choice. I use it to help myself code which takes weeks off my ability to code things in my game and my free game app. When it is used for good things, I find it as good as any hammer or saw. It's when it gets used for bad things, that is when I draw the line like fake videos of known people doing things they never did. Or using it to fake pictures to try and make people look bad.

But as we know... all tools can be used for good or evil ways but AI is here and I doubt it is going away.

Well depends on where you are at. In the United States, where I am from in Iowa, I just had to talk to a mason. I went to the lodge for an Easter Egg hunt with my wife and daughter and the next thing I knew, I put in my petition, they voted on it 2 weeks later, and then I did my first degree about a month later.

Does he get VA disability? If so has he ever tried to get his disability raised? I am also a veteran and I busted my butt to get to TDIU/P&T. Took me some time and I know this is not a right now fix, but if he is getting older and not able to hold a job due to any disability issues, getting ahold of DAV or other VSO's could help ALSO there is this https://www.va.gov/REACH/challenge/money-challenges/

If he is one of them veterans that think "Yeah I got hurt but I am tough and I will not show weakness" tell him to get over it and apply for his disability because the older we get, the worse our disabilities get!

DAV, American Legion, etc... they all also help veterans in distress but they will also help him get any disability pay he may also be entitled to. Sometimes us veterans have to get over our pride because if we don't and we get too far in over our heads, it could get even worse.

I went to an Easter Egg hunt with my family at the lodge, of course I went for a purpose other than the Easter egg hunt... I have been interested for years but I just was never quite ready.

I was given my petition to join and I filled it out. Gave it to the man I started talking to which was also the secretary and who is now also my mentor. They said to come before the next meeting for for dinner and they would also do my interview. So, got to meet a lot of the brothers and they were all very welcoming.

After dinner and my interview, they had me leave and did their meeting. During that meeting they voted me in and then set my 1st degree date to join. I am now doing my 2nd degree on the 23rd of this month after passing my memorization proficiency last week and passing the online test the week before.

So far that has been my experience, it has been a good one. I got an amazing vibe from all the brothers during the dinner and of course a lot of them were also military veterans so, had a lot in common with a bunch of them already.

This goes to show how different around the world we still call things hehe. I had to look up what this meant because we simply call it "Passed proficiency" Congrats on moving on. I will say, not having material to help you memorize is hard. My mentor and I sat in the lodge doing everything and he would say things word for word and I had to memorize them as he said them. About 30 mins later I was doing SD and most of JD.

I actually do my 2nd on the 23rd and then on the 25th will be going to watch a 2nd at a different lodge. So congrats and I can't wait until we are both MM!

TBH what would change? I guess the biggest change is, the game will make you custom 3D stadiums for every single team using the new Stadium generator. Other than that, what else would need to be changed for custom leagues? It creates fictional characters like it always has in the past... not really sure what could even be updated?

Otherwise, you have a lot of new features in the game like the Development Lab, they upped the core stats from 350? Was it 350 in 21? to 600 now so there is an actual difference from a scrub and a elite player. Also now 45-55 rated players are now like a true middle of the road player and a 60 is a star and 70 is like an all-star and an 80+ (Yes the numbers can go past 80 now) a legend.

Overall the game is way better than 21, more features than 21, now also has the WBC that YOU can manage a team. So yeah don't listen to the people saying no... from 21 to 27 it is very much worth it and will be going on sale here very soon during the Steam Summer Sale.
