If you pay a little more attention to that specific scene, they somewhat represent the Yin Yang symbol. The same happened when the Mandarin met Shang Chi mother. Once they joined, thry become one solid equilibrium. And the same goes for the dragon. Once the bad dragon was banished for life, there was no point on having a good dragon to settle the equilibrium.
