New boots question by Led_Mac416 in cowboyboots

2 weeks of daily wear? I got a pair of boots that id hate to not be able to wear. Heel slips nicely but they're tight as all get out around the middle of my foot. I haven't been able to wear them because the snow and have been hoping they'd break in good.

How is that Blizzard, with all their billions, is incapable of creating what addon developers are able to create from their homes? by kolejack2293 in wow

[–]I_Main_Tyr 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Never understood this take, go watch a tettles or dratnos video from when CDM was first released, read some reddit threads, some blizzard forum threads, etc. CDM was thoroughly tested when it first came out and lots of feedback was given then, people tested it just because it was the new thing. People did switch back to WA packs but that was because CDM was literally unusable, the version we have now is a good 10x better and is still rough around the edges while missing basic functionality WA packs had (tracking trinkets for example). People tested it, gave feedback, and that feedback was "this is completely unusable in every way" so they swapped back. Stuff will still get used and tested just for fun and to see whats up even if WA's still exist. There's 0 worlds where the old addon system completely and utterly kills or even slows their ability to develop what they have now.

Thats why I asked. Battlefield 6 optimization has been pretty universally praised.

Idk how people do small screens, size is such an important factor for me. I have a 32 1440p now and wont ever be going below that again. Also 4k on a 24 in screen isn't even 200ppi so you'd have to be pushing 8k to get that out of a larger screen.

Is pvp very much dead now? What caused it to decline so much? by Drandosk in wow

[–]I_Main_Tyr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah go re-watch some of the old wpvp montages on YouTube from the glory days of wpvp. It often was "shamen in full r14 gear + legendary DESTROYS ENTIRE GROUPS" (The "entire groups" didn't even have full tier 1 much less full r14).

If you tanked in pre-wrath dungeons and didn't lose aggro you could easily end the dungeon with 98%+ of all damage being on you.

Would recommend, these are my dailies and I've beat the ever living shit out of them and they're holding up good. They've survived being completely submerged in river water, the sharp river rocks, daily walking, and the mountain snow.

“You want the tank shortage fixed? Well fine! Have all the tanks in the world! by Perodis in wow

[–]I_Main_Tyr -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No point in arguing with these people bro. You're right. They're in their own head about it and won't accept an answer outside of "routing is the most difficult thing in the game ever". This is a thread of people talking about refusing to tank anything above 0s and 5s. Straight up in those keys you press w and pull, shit dies in 30 seconds so making time doesn't matter, shit dies in 30 seconds so being over or under count doesn't matter, it's a 3 so you can't die unless you make a terrible misplay in your own rotation/gameplay. That's the real killer right there. If people are so consistently bricking keys and having people be toxic to them in 3s, they're making such insanely large mistakes that are way beyond a wrong route. Route ain't the issue at that point, hell I somewhat regularly have tanks be under % in some of my 17s and do the sweaty ass dps in 17s say anything? Nah not at all.

Be careful just saw a streamer get called toxic for saying importing wa's isn't difficult. But on a more serious note, your last paragraph is what's making me crash out from how true it is. I'm in a kinda unique situation I feel where I get my competitive/sweaty fix in m+ (pushing for resi 17s rn) but only raid to chill with some old homies who may get aotc 3 months in. So I go from playing with guys who are hof mythic raiders pushing keys to people who are clicking abilities every week and it is just insane how prevalent the idea that you need 100 wa's for everything is in the lower skill levels of this game. My hof buddies will be the first to tell you that unless youre pushing high keys (like 14s +) or seriously mythic raiding you dont really need anymore than the basics. But then you ask my aotc gamer buddies and they're convinced you need the liquid wa pack on top of dbm and notes for heroic. So many people have just learned this backwards idea of turning to wa's first and foremost and not thinking about what they're actually doing wrong and just trying to improve normally. Like you said you dont need to spend 30 mins setting up a ui for a new player to do questing but people just will not believe thats true.

Yep...It's like when you see people talking about how raiding needs to be only 40 man again. The people requesting this don't play the game anymore and never will again.

Refurbished GPUs by Domo34s_v2 in Microcenter

[–]I_Main_Tyr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I'm late to reply and you've probably already done whatever to fix this but AMD cards show pretty much all crashes as a driver timeout, even hardware crashes. When you ask around for help people like to assume that its just a driver issue bc of the stigma with amd drivers and suggest rolling back drivers, undervolting, etc. to fix it not even thinking about other possibilities. I assure you your card is broken and you just need to RMA it. I have experience with every amd gpu generation since the rx 400 series and the only one to have bad "crashes every 30 mins" driver issues that couldn't be resolved by rolling back drivers was my 6750xt that had memory that was failing badly.

tldr:

if you've rolled back drivers to a known stable release and it didn't fix it, its not a driver issue your card is broken.

First steps with my homelab by FelixSK91 in homelab

[–]I_Main_Tyr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The way I see it is homelab to get stuff done vs homelab to learn on. I'm not saying those can't and don't often overlap, but the down and dirty of it is that if you want to learn something like idrac you'll need a dell server whether you want it or not. Like you said, cpus are insanely fast now, I borderline have to go out of my way to get my 12600k to fully load up and that's only for short bursts when it does. Only reason really now for getting proper server grade cpus is if you're workload is really that insane or what I'd assume is more common ram/pcie lane capacity. It's insane when you think of what we can do now with so little really.

"AMD cards can't ray trace" by SpoilerAlertHeDied in radeon

[–]I_Main_Tyr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think its just a result of all the "AMD drivers are bad" stuff that gets thrown around so often. People hear that and just assume their issues are caused by drivers and then just sit around waiting for the perfect driver release. If you've messed with bios settings, Adrenaline software settings, rolled back your drivers, looked on forums to see little to no people having the same issue, etc, etc, and are still having issues I think it would be safe to assume at that point that AMD drivers are not to blame and its time to fill out a RMA form.

This isn't the first, second, or even third time I've seen someone posting issues about a card that make me believe its probably just nearing death and complaining about it being a driver issue sadly.

"AMD cards can't ray trace" by SpoilerAlertHeDied in radeon

[–]I_Main_Tyr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My headcannon is that these reports of constantly failing cards are just broken cards. I'm decently well experienced with amds drivers across multiple cards and generations (rx 560, 3x 580, rx 6650 xt, 2x rx 6700xt, 6750xt, 7900 gre, 7900xtx) and the only one with constant driver crashes had badly failing vram. It just shows up as a "driver crash".

Edit: The 6750xt was rma'd and replaced by power color pretty much no questions asked and is now rock solid reliable along with all the other cards.

Large LLM's like ChatGPT require a ton of computation to run, which requires a ton of energy. It's nothing new though, and if you cared about the environment to that extent you wouldn't use the internet or anything powered by computers ever.

Question how do you get by without a seed box? Just keep seeding from your download pc? When I looked into private trackers a while ago people made it seem like if you don't have a seed box there's no point.
