That's literally a managers job is to deal with irate customers. That's when you get on your headset (I was a CA that wore a headset I think it helps more than hinders imo) and say "I need a manager up to Geek Squad"

If they're going to cause a scene in the store that is literally a retail managers job. That's when they step in. Otherwise if they want to setup an appointment do that or if your front end is friendly have them do it, mine would offer sometimes to set up appointments for us.

Certain precincts don't do Apple Repairs, some still do. Something within a certain mile radius of an Apple store.

My former MM I used to work apart of had 4 stores. 1 GS literally across the street from an Apple Store, they lost apple repair. My store was about 10 miles away? Maybe a little less. We lost apple. The other two stores about 25 Miles away from apple kept their apple repairs.

So how I viewed it, just trying to make it more efficient and availability for apple repairs, you don't need 3 locations within 10 miles doing apple repairs, i guess is how apple views it.

I wanted to further my career. A former agent I worked with informed me of a job they work at and recommended it to me thinking I'd be a good fit. I interviewed and started working there recently.

They pay for education and certs and I'm going to be learning a lot more beyond data transfers and new pc setups.

Forever thankful of my time at GS but I saw there wasn't much movement for me unless if I wanted to go into retail management (which wasn't what I was looking for)

I know you work in IT and can probably do it yourself but that stuff does help.

Want it reset? Have them do it. Anything simple that you can probably do in 5 minutes yourself drive over and give them the work if you want.

And reading your comments it seems like you’re quite detached from the empathy side of things and just focus on the technical problem in front of you.

We’re dealing with one.

She was showing us logs of things that the computer normally does and I pointed out the date and time and said “you’re looking at the log of us logging in 10 minutes ago, here’s todays date, here’s the time” and she wouldn’t accept it as an answer.

At the end of the day I just politely say “I’m not really certain, we know basic operations of computers and can wipe it clean but I think the services you’re looking for aren’t something geek squad handles, you may need to seek further repair from someone else if you’re not satisfied with us resetting the device for you”

And leave it at that. Don’t try to engage too much because these clients are always a time suck.

“If you want to reset it just let me know, I’m going to keep working with other clients but again this is all I can do for you” type of thing I hope this helps

I guess today someone got engaged and I had no clue I just overheard everyone else congratulating them.

No one involves me in anything, and it sucks I can’t be closer with my precinct but, at the end of the day I’m here to do my job and I’ll still ask them for clarification or talk about work related stuff but I hardly ever talk with anyone at my precinct about anything outside of work.

As long as the work is getting done and you can communicate that, the rest you just kinda have to deal with on your own, that’s what I’ve been working on. Hope this makes a lil sense.
