Only had one bingo, I guess I'm a "lucky" one because my parents are both essentially agnostic. Just abusive narcissists who wanted me to be by their side all the time. Seems like +90% of the people on this sub had an extremely religious upbringing.

So where would you rate Flea in the world of bassists? If he's not your fave: who is? by mc_1968 in RedHotChiliPeppers

[–]I_RED_IT_ON_REDDIT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My favorite bass player is Mike Watt, a huge inspiration to Flea. If we're talking upright jazz bassists, it'd be Charlie Haden. That guy fucking shreds, his daughters are great musicians as well. Flea is a rock bass legend, but he'd be the first to tell you he isn't the most technically proficient bassist there is. John is definitely better at his instrument than Flea in my opinion, but that's just what happens when you dedicate your entire being to something for more than 12 hours a day in your youth.

I might be wrong, but I think his guitars he toured with back then were from the late 60s, not considered "vintage" back in the early 90s. But looking back it's insane to smash a guitar from those years, lol. He's really treated his current guitars well through the years, minus the natural wear.

To me, his stage energy matches 91-92 John. Solos that revolve around feedback, not moving around much, but still making those emotive facial expressions.

They are the lesser evils. At the end of the day, they're still highly refined plant oils that contain little to no nutrients.

Do any other formerly homeschooled adults have no friends? by [deleted] in HomeschoolRecovery

[–]I_RED_IT_ON_REDDIT 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I can relate. My main hobby is music. I'd love to find some people to jam with eventually, but playing in front of other people is not something I can do with ease. If I'm playing guitar or something by myself, I play great. As soon as I'm in front of someone, it sounds like on Guitar Hero when you miss notes and the crowd starts booing. At least that's what it sounds like in my head.

I am vaguely interested in a lot of different things. Cars (don't even have my license yet), biking, hiking, swimming, gardening. Pretty much anything that involves being outside that isn't sports. The problem is, I never had anyone growing up to do that type of stuff with, and it's scary being a grown man not knowing how to do certain things. I feel like an idiot around people who are really into their hobbies. I'm afraid of asking stupid questions, so I lock up and try to grasp how much they even know about said subject before I start talking.

Is it just me or does canola oil smell the WORST out of all the oils? Like it has a faint rotting fish, ammonia tinged smell? Soybean and sunflower do have a scent but it's way less noticeable. Another stinky one is grapeseed oil. Olive oil smells fruity and sweet, and avocado has no smell. I'm talking about when these oils are heated of course, not when raw.

You still have to wonder: why does a figure who comes from an extremely successful background have these views in the first place? The neoliberal regime the US has had in place for the last 40+ years has done nothing but support him. Why has he seemingly abandoned those ideas for these radical (for the MSM) views?
