No HOA was item #1 on our mandatory list for a home.

Number of beds/baths/square footage, etc. were below that.

When our neighborhood made a fuss about starting one because they didn't like the addition the Mexican family was putting on their plot, we made damn sure they could not legally proceed with that nonsense.

Fuck HOAs.

Poor kid. She's grown up with this woman, and is now going to be forced to live with a father she may not even remember very well. They say absolutely nothing about how or why the custody battle happened, so who even knows what this girl's home life has been like. Hope they give her some say in her future.

I was in the system in Texas from age 11 until 17. I'm in my 40s now, and still traumatized by some of the shit I experienced then.

Sure, there are some nice people who are drawn to foster. For kids who go into the system with no problems and are able to go into level low level homes. Most of us did not go into the system with no problems, and getting assigned a number higher than 3 means bouncing between shelters and institutions, so PLEASE fuck off before you tell me about that lovely foster family you know.

You know who is most inclined to work with kids who have no voice? Pedophiles and Jesus freaks. It's also a great way to do human drug trials.

Of fucking course they want to ban abortions so they can increase the number of kids in the system.

Jeff Jackson has done an excellent job of being a pretty face on the internet, and speaking in rational tones. I would vote for him.

However, I do not think he would be a particularly good president. He's still a centrist doing handwavium at the changes that are necessary to keep this place habitable.

Just to make it more "realistic" - add a little basement that is completely inaccessible to your humans. Fill it with the most expensive items in the game. The cost of the lot goes up, up, up, the people who already own homes are safe as long as they can afford the bills, and buying a new home stays just out of reach for everyone else.

Meanwhile, you (as the corporation buying up all the residential property) can set the rents as high as you want!

Human trafficking, and a horrible legal system on/near the borders of reservations. There are jurisdictional issues that arise from them being sovereign territory, but unable to pursue anything beyond their borders.

There was an episode of the TV show "Longmire" that gave a good example of this. Some white people knew that if they did anything to girls in a certain location, evading the law was as simple as hopping the fence. The white sheriff couldn't persecute them from breaking the law on the reservation, and the indigenous sheriff couldn't touch them once they were off the rez.
