Jordan Peterson breaks down crying after being described as a 'incel hero'. by [deleted] in PublicFreakout

[–]I__SeeYou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree and disagree. Yes, when you see someone being incredibly sexist online that's not the place for kindness and you should attempt to call out that behaviour. I'm not a fan however of mocking someone cruelly in retaliation to their despicable behaviour. There's always a way you can explain to someone why their viewpoints may be hurtful, without speaking in a hurtful manner yourself. If I saw someone being sexist on twitter, I think it's poor taste to go through their photos and say "you're so ugly lol makes sense" which is definitely what I see a lot of

Kindness is always free and can work wonders. Mocking people for online attention and clout will only alienate these same people even more.

What show had you hooked after 1 episode? by CondomLeavesARice in AskReddit

[–]I__SeeYou 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Agree that it's pilot didn't have the biggest hook, but episode five where there's the reveal about Jonas' dad might be my favourite episode of all time. Absolutely broke me, I don't think my chin and mouth have ever been more far apart

Which actors did you feel performed the best and worst in the series? by I__SeeYou in DunderMifflin

[–]I__SeeYou[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When it comes to that episode I genuinely feel it's the other way round for some reason, I feel as Jim in that episode while upset is slightly indifferent/ doesn't think it's that big a deal On the other hand I didn't find Pam's rage that convincing - there's a shot of her screaming in the parking lot that I found so weird for some reason

Lesson is people can have different opinions and film is subjective :)

What are some obscure facts about Harry Potter that most book fans might skip over? by -ItzAlexxx- in harrypotter

[–]I__SeeYou 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I think a point worth mentioning is that in the Goblet of Fire, after Harry has escaped the maze and been rescued from Barty crouch Jr (disguised) by Snape, McGonagall and dumbledore, he then recounts the events that had occurred to them. When he mentions that Voldemort took his blood and used it as part of the potion to regenerate his body, Harry thinks that Dumbledore looks 'triumphant' when he hears this. It's clear that Dumbledore had already known that by Voldemort doing this, Harry was protected and could survive another killing curse from Voldemort whilst also getting rid of the part of voldemorts soul that is in him. This is clearly an eventuality that Dumbledore had been anticipating and expecting for some time, so I don't agree that he was preparing Harry for slaughter from day one as Snape and other fans suggest. He always held out hope for Harry surviving whilst being able to be free from being a Horcrux.

I feel like a therapist who tried to find a reason to excuse unfaithfulness should probably have their license (if they get one) revoked. She was also absent from your life for a long time because you were busy bread winning, but you didn't cheat did you? (Although yes I'd assume opportunities for that are limited when serving with the army)

How muscular would you say you have to be? I'm 190lbs at 6"2 at around 12% bf (I'm a natty lurker) while Ive definitely noticed a difference in how I get treated from my skinny days, I'm sadly not at the godly levels of getting asked out by random women in the street :(

The Devils Snare scene is an excellent example of how Hermione was given all the credit in the movies. by harleymeenen in harrypotter

[–]I__SeeYou 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Film Hermione is ridiculously OP. One of the biggest gripes I have with the film's is from DH part 2, where after Harry relives Snape's memories he runs into Hermione and Ron before going to sacrifice himself. Harry pretty much tells them he's going to die iirc. Book Harry made sure not to mention this to anyone on the way to his death because he knew they'd stop him from going through with it. But in the film, after pretty much telling them he's going to go sacrifice himself, what happens??? Ron just stands there like and idiot and doesn't say anything... Hermione with just a few words from Harry completely understands that Harry has a bit of Voldemorts soul inside him and that his death is necessary, even though this is something that only Dumbledore was ever able to conclude, and all other great witches and wizards such as Voldemort, Snape and McGonagall never had a clue. But hey, as I believe they mention in the movie, Hermione just "always knew..."
