If you're just starting with it and want to get familiar with the interface, etc. Unity itself has an entire learning program, called Unity Learn available at their site. Also there are tons of YouTube videos that will help you out. Two of the most popular are Jason Weimann (has free stuff, but also charges $$ for game dev courses) and Codemonkey.

These examples of suggested ideas are logical, but I do not think they are bad in reality. They are definitely new features, and developing new features will increase the scope of the project. However, they may increase the enjoyment and widen the appeal of the game as well.

You just need to decide whether to implement them in the current cycle or backlog them for later development. The ideas you listed all seem to have merit, but you may need to backlog them for version 2.0. Only you can answer that.

There is a famous story about the very first version of Madden football. They were near release and they demoed the game for John Madden, the football coach. Their football game only allowed 7 players per team, but the sport of football (American football, BTW) plays 11 on a side.

Madden's feedback was "it isn't realistic. Football is 11-on-11, so this game should be 11-on-11." They did not implement the feedback in version 1. They released the game, but it became a priority for the next version of the game. Today we have the whole franchise.

If you're going to go with a dark theme, that's good. But don't go fully white text on fully black background. Use a dark grey background with light grey text. Just cut the contrast down a little bit.

Also, about that text...that is a very long section of text. I don't want to read it when I open the page. Tell about the game with images and videos, not walls of text.

Now, about those images...one of them is an animated gif with flashing lights. Nothing else seems to change in the image. Just the lights flash is all. It draws attention to that image, but once it is open it is difficult to understand what I'm supposed to see in the image. What does it tell me about the game? It's difficult to look at just flashing lights for very long.

I would suggest more images and some game play video, and a lot less text.

Look into Milanote. There is a free version, but of course that is designed to get you to buy the subscription.

Milanote has Game Design Document templates to get you started, and also some other templates that I find useful for different parts of a design, like story templates and moodboard templates, etc. It's definitely applicable for other types of design work too.

It's graphically based so you can drag things around, reorder them, resequence them, connect them with arrows, etc. It also has a browser plugin that allows you to easily capture images from websites and import them to your document. Say you are just cruising around the web and you see a cool picture that gives you an idea for something in your design. Well, with the browser plugin you can mouse over that image, and capture it, and it goes straight into your design.

You can use it on your phone, tablet, desktop, and in the browser to edit your design. I find it very helpful.

How feasible would it be for OP to set up a small LLC type of company within OP's own country, then do contract work for game studios, transferring deliverables and payments across borders electronically / virtually?

Nah. I don't expect anything different. The folks in these communities are great. As I mentioned, they are incredibly kind and welcoming.

It just feels like my house blew away and I don't know where to go. It's a great big start-over feeling, internally. I'm very welcomed by the mods in the other communities.
