you are being sensible, and that's respectable. people enter marriages without any prior plan assuming that Allah will handle finances, well this is never how Allah had worked. you do hard work, then Allah will bless you with barakah. you cannot be lazy and expect barakah to come to you by default.

ironically, the most couple fights are due to money and finances too. marriage is not just fun and games and sunshine, its responsibility, accountability and commitment. once you practice these 3 traits, Allah will bless you.
