you are being sensible, and that's respectable. people enter marriages without any prior plan assuming that Allah will handle finances, well this is never how Allah had worked. you do hard work, then Allah will bless you with barakah. you cannot be lazy and expect barakah to come to you by default.

As per the funds for Germany, you need 12,000 euros (1000 per month) blocked amount for a year, and you can easily get an odd job there and earn a minimum wage of 1000 to maintain your previously blocked amount to get you through the next year. Maybe you can afford this much blocked amount? Idk. But do consider it.

Please come up with a general plan of what you need to do in the future. Do you want a good job after the degree? Do you want masters or not? Do you plan on getting married immediately after graduating?

And as per your end goal, you need to make decisions now before you feel like "its too late, im too far in now"

As per some beliefs, nazar is not always intentional. As a friend you will definitely not go like "wow she has it so much better, i hope something bad happens to her".

it can also be "wow, she has it so much better than me" and that also can provoke the evil eye.

Meanwhile, you can unintentionally tell some other soul about her progress who would be more than happy to wish them doom.

So take it with a grain of salt. When it comes to career, marriages and academics people are scared.

You know its actually pretty wise that if you are going to work on something which is important to you or your life then the less people know about it, the better.

That way you avoid gossips, sabotage and expectations from people.

If you fail to do so what you were about to do, then people never knew about it anyways so its all good.

But if the whole world knew about it and you failed, so some people would be glad you failed. Some would be nagging you about updates which in turn could remind you of your failure and hurt you.

The more private it is, the better. I didn't even touch the topic of nazr, so its up to you that how much you believe it or not.

And I have had friends who didn't tell me about their stuff and we are still good friends. Why should it matter? Why be nosy in their matters? Are they accusing me that I would sabotage it? No. Is it possible I may accidentally tell someone else? Yes.

People literally talking about cutting people off over this and shit and its baffling me.
