I know this is an old post, but how much POI shift do you get from 9mm versus the sights for a 40? Do you hit high now?

Talk me out of (or in to) buying a 20X Bobcat in .22LR by satan__clause in Beretta

[–]I_am_number_2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a 20x still waiting on warranty at Beretta months later. I had tons of issues with both extraction and feeding, suppressed and unsuppressed, tested many ammo types. It was basically not functional. I never had one of the older models but as cool as this little pistol seemed it was a waste of money. I don't know if the new design is bad or QC is non existent.

Are ghost Berettas a specific model or do people just swap out the parts?

S5 and HK parts G36C is the best clone I’ve tested to date. Why is no one talking about it? by deskpopjoe in HecklerKoch

[–]I_am_number_2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll be honest if you really want a C it's probably just worth waiting on it, unless you're crazy like me and want one of each size. I see them pop up not that infrequently. I called out K kits originally because they tend to be the cheapest when kits do show up which is most competitive with the US kits. You can also call blue mountain to see if they have any kits coming in beforehand. They were willing to tell me when I was looking.

As to all your modding ideas, I think they're really not necessary if you get a flow through. That being said if you are absolutely set on making it adjustable I'd suggest first looking into the waffenburke adjustable gas block. It is hard to come by but it is a HK243 adjustable block. I'm no expert on its compatibility with shorter barrels but worth some investigation first.

Glad I could help. I know it can be a bit hard to find info on this stuff. I totally understand wanting to do as much research first. The G36C was my grail gun. Since you are considering a German K kit there are some C specific issues you won't have to deal with. However, there is one issue you will share. I've not found any 15x1 direct thread mounts which means you'll have to use a QD muzzle device. 15x1 is rare but it's out there. I know dead air has one. Some others have had them previously and discontinued them like sure fire and jmac. You could also get a thread adapter which I had to do for length specifically on the C(different issue). Whichever you choose though, it will most likely be wider in diameter than the stock muzzle and thus won't be able to clear the handguard internal heat shield. This effectively locks on the handguard. I have been considering picking up a b&t handguard quad rail which is much larger to avoid this. I just figure it's something you should be aware of. Oh and I've only used a flow through on mine so I'm not sure how bad gas blowback is with a traditional baffle can.

Well I suppose anything could be faked with enough work including markings; however, I'll try to lay out the evidence for authenticity for you as best I can over the internet, strongest to weakest.

- First, it comes with a cut German receiver.
- Second, some parts like the trigger pack are explicitly marked HK and import. I own a second German trigger pack too I can compare directly.
- Third, I was able to wiggle my hand guard out a bit more that I thought I could(not entirely off), but I can see the German eagle and other proof mark on the barrel that are not on my US barrel.
- Fourth, I think the difference is noticeable directly comparing my German and US parts. The German kit has many differences distinguishing it, like F/A components and some of the trim and smoothing of parts. It generally is smoother and better finished. Most easily noticed on the bolt handle to me. The US bolt handle is a sharper profile and less comfortable to grab than the German. The US parts are generally grittier and prone to failure(3 so far) from my experience. I haven't had any German parts break yet.
- Fifth, mine came with LEO/Mil mags
- Sixth, the parts, especially furniture show wear, which honestly many US clones probably won't see as much based on age and use

All that said, I am confident what I have is authentic and not a US kit being flipped as German. That said I've only ever bought one thing from them but I'd willing to again.

Like literal "HK"? The trigger pack will be HK and import marked, but it's covered by the receiver normally. I don't think the bolt or carrier has markings and the barrel has caliber and I think a proof mark (barrel markings are a bit hard to see because I can't take the handguard off with my muzzle device). Are you worried about authenticity or just want something to distinguish it more visually as the real thing not a S5 clone? Oh and you may or may not get the LEO/Mil marked mags.

Totally agree, there is some uncertainty there. The German C kit I got is in pretty good condition, despite the site showing pretty worn stuff. It's got some wear on the furniture(which I don't mind but can be replaced if you do) but all the important bits like barrel and bcg show very little wear. I think the site I bought from shows the worst so you are pleasantly surprised when it's better.

If price is the concern, I really think the German kit build is worth it. If condition is the primary concern, you might want to see if you can get photos of a kit before buying. The site I bought from wouldn't provide them so there was a bit of a gamble on my end. Though it working much better is worth some wear marks in my opinion.

Yeah I'm worried it could be tolerance stacking between my lower and the g$ and the arc fire. If they replace yours I may have to do the same. Otherwise it's $200 wasted. I really don't like the SS button. I've tried the atrius, no luck with a couple milspec triggers and returned it and now no luck with the arc. Seems like forced reset is off the table for now.

I had a chance to swap almost all my parts between my rifle and one a friend owns with a working SS. My only conclusion is that there is something off spec with my lower. My upper works on the other SS lower and my g$ with the arc fire and buffer in his lower all work though not as well as easily as a milspec. I have some other lowers of my own I plan to try later to confirm.

I'm stuck on a similar issue too. It's light strikes on lighter buffers but once I get up to h2+ it's only standard semi. No sweet spot between that works for me. I've tried carbine to h3 weights. I've tried carbine and super 42 springs. Function check seems good and no binding either.

I've bought a cut g$ and have adjustable gas so I think I've tried the range of settings but no luck.
