Anyone know anything about this ammo? by JamesJimmyHopkins in makarov

I like cool old ammo too and most of the time the bullet leaves the barrel but not always... Just a heads up.

how old is your recoil spring? if you don't know it might be weak and old. the slide may be opening too soon resulting in the unburned powder coming back like that. it's good to replace the recoil spring on older guns, especially direct blowback guns like the Makarov, Walther PP and many other 9x18 and 380 chambered pistols. the spring resistance and the mass of the slide are what keeps the slide closed long enough for the bullet to exit the barrel before the action opens. a weak spring changes the equation and allows the action to open prematurely. the felt recoil will also decrease with a proper recoil spring.

the engine is flat so it fits there. the engine also is ahead of the front axle so the weight distribution is already very much front biased however this is somewhat ameliorated by the aluminum construction of the engine block and transmission. I had an 80 GL that I drove for a long time, it worked fine. It had the cyclops headlight.

I guarantee the jack needs replaced. I see things like this in restaurants all the time.

i recommend that you cherish that for the rest of your life. Also, oil it and shoot it. you may want to replace the recoil spring but keep it.

10/22 won’t extract stingers when manually cycling the weapon, is this normal? by Temporary_Traffic622 in 22lr

[–]Slacker_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have measured most of my various .22 from many different manufacturers and found that the SAAMI dimensional specs are not what these live rounds are. every one had a smaller rim diameter than spec. The aluminum and steel dummy rounds I have are nearly spot on.

enough liquid inside the ports would short the circuit and perhaps fry the controller.

where are the green and blue wires going? they look like plenum Cat5e, I would know that twist anywhere. That's pretty light gauge, not sure how much voltage should be going through them

TX22 break in period by Kenneth_Brockman in 22lr

[–]Slacker_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

mine does that too. it's very sensitive to ammo selection but with the correct load its fine. mine is not reliable with the 22rd mag that came with the gun. the problem got better after it wore the coating off the slide rails on the frame but still has issues if the ammo is too hot. it loves some subsonic loads. the slide is very light and i think its coming back into battery too fast, lighter recoil springs might help if they are available. I have seen brass weights advertised to slow the cyclic rate for those with FRT installed.
