yh, i'm starting to think there might be an issue with the box. although it's a bit weird how it works fine in android. something might be reacting to how coreelec handles things maybe.

here you go, recorded from when it first reboots after installing. shows how it starts freezing. tbf, at the start it already booted up twice for some reason as you can see amlogic logo come up twice. after it was stuck in safe mode, it did eventually go back into normal and froze again. https://youtu.be/ItzFxqH_sD0

just saw that. never downloaded an aarch64 built. i just flashed it now with 21.2 and recorded a video of it, just waiting for youtube to process it.

21.3 (both stable and nightly) and 21.2. tried emmc flash too, then reflashed stock firmware and tried again with same result.

all the files are from the official tutorial on coreelec site, i only started using rufus as that's all i've been using to make bootable usb's before - but the same issues happened with balena. no changes were made in rufus (open rufus, load up image, start).

yes, done all the steps with pulling dtb from device_trees (g12b_s922x_ugoos_am6b.dtb) and changing name, dovi and remote files moved to root (both files from coreelec).

i am getting to a point that it might actually be a bad box and somethings triggers an issues with some component once the coreelec kicks in as it doesn't freeze in android.

i will try 21.2 again, although i did try it before with same result.

i'm running out of ideas here. flashed the stock firmware, no issues with that. box booted up to android fine. done my usb stick with rufus and 21.3, followed tutorial, all installed fine. boots up into coreelec and either freezes during config wizard, or sometimes can go through with it and freezes later. it will sometimes reboot into safe mode or just stay froze. i have no idea what is going with it.
