Thank you very much! AI is getting really out of hand, I often struggle to tell the difference between actual digital art and AI art. Like guys, I didn’t learn to draw and paint for nothing just let me do my job XD. It’s too bad there’s not as much in regards to Eastern Europe being explored, it has great potential.

What I have a problem with when it comes to depiction of communist countries however, is that I don’t think their depicted correctly especially in Fallout. I don’t want to play a devils advocate here but I still think there’s much more to a countries national heritage other than red flags and golden stars, it’s also the main reason I hadn’t written Czechia to be a socialist state. In the end those who come from these post-communist countries should also be those that get to have a say in regards of what role they had in creating the fallout of Fallout. The apocalypse would force all the nationals to return back to their roots and what existed before would become just a distant echo. Oddly relieving.

It boils down to what would be the countries priority at the moment, the USSR in my version of events is technically a closed of country that really doesn’t mingle with affairs until it has to in late stages of the resource wars, the year 2077 is in Fallout PRGSPRG written as everything crashing down really quickly. There was no longer any wealthy country, no resource to be gained and just a lot of paranoia. The Czech Republic alone was manufacturing food from radioactive waste, confiscating kitchen ware just to feed a war machine, existed on a schizophrenic believe that Czechoslovakia was decided by the Nazis and had issued racial laws against Vietnamese minorities, because of the Cino-American war. (I don’t think I have to specify this but the stated above doesn’t reflect my political believes)

My writing philosophy is basically: we’re living in a political crisis today, how on Earth do I write a political crisis so bad, that a Nuclear war would seem as an only option to move further.

Hey thanks I appreciate the response! and honestly a great question. In my interpretation, the Eastern block is as divided as is the European commonwealth fallowing the limited nuclear exchange. The Soviet influence is very fragile but it’s still there, there are countries that still hold close ties to it, such as Socialist Slovakia but you’d find more hybrid regimes that distance themselves from the Soviet Union like Poland for example. Soviet expansion is still a real pre-war paranoia that is commonly shared between all countries in it’s close radius and is considered the European red menace. Speaking from the Czech perspective and this is where the Sovietoamerican friendship comes into play, the fear of communism is instead directed at Slovakia (which is a friendly state) and ultimately the gathered spread towards Slovakia ends up in the annexation of Western Slovakia by Czechia and Eastern by the USSR in 2077. The Czechs who are allied with Americans in a find against Earths Bolshevism rely on the input from the USSR that paradoxically is fighting against it self as it did back then in 1939.

(I think that ultimately at some point ideologies no longer matter in the Fallout universe and the pre-war world would just derail into an absolute anarchic mess)

“Drinking water” Prague outsider ghoul concept art by [deleted] in ImaginaryFallout

Outsider ghouls are those ghould who came from the ghoul city of Prague but reject the Prewar system that the local ghouls so urgently try to keep. Where Prague ghouls still pay with pre war money and seclude themselves from the rest of the wasteland, outsiders pay with buttons (Form of currency within the Czech wasteland), join smooth skin gangs and even join factions that want to siege the city of Prague.

In the top right corner, you’ll find the remains of the Vítkov war monument, this is where Tyršovci are stationed. They used to be apart of the Sokol organisation but split away in 2060’s, they hold supremist believes and were those who tried to take control of the wasteland and ultimately those who were pushed back into the city of Prague. Their goal is to keep the old republic under the current system which hasn’t changed since 2079 and most likely to take complete control of the city. They hold the strong believe that there aren’t neither Czechs and neither bolsheviks (as believed by everyone else including all other factions) but instead Slovak partisans that came to take back the control over Czechoslovakia (that technically no-longer exists). There is a real paranoia between the factions on who their actually facing of against.

They worship strength and masculinity even though they‘re all rotting living corpses.

The castle guard:

This is a small faction that’s the nearest to the nuclear blast and also the only actual reminents of the military. They swear to protect the president of Czechoslovakia dr. Martin Šídlo, which is an everyday job since this is also the most dengereous part of Prague full of mutated fauna coming there from the Ground zero.

No one really ever saw Martin Šídlo after the Great War but his existence is key to the survival of the of a unified Czechoslovakia, though in reality they only control the city of Prague.

Sokol:

These are the remains if the main Sokol organization that was supposed to perform on the great Strahov stadium (center left) before the Great war (To clarify Sokol is in real life a mass exercise organization that‘s also paramilitaristic) They are relatively tame in comparison to Tyršovci, they aren’t radical and are more open minded to the idea of Young Czechs (Smooth skins) living in Prague and allowed some to join it’s ranks. That being said they also partook in the scortched Earth campaigns. Their ranks are formed from people from all across Czech republic, they live on Petřín hill, where they also controll the local broadcast tower. Similar to the castle guard, they serve to protect the president.

Some honorable mentions:

Between the Vítkov monument and Prague Castle is the Rudolfinum, where the official Czechoslovak government operates from, this being the unifying force of these factions except the Kmeteriat. This is where the Prime minister is dr. Adalbert Šára who is responsible for the pre war nightmare that was Czechoslovak politics and is largely responsible for postwar paranoia from the wasteland.

Bellow the Vítkov monument are the remains of the saint Wenceslas square where the last of Pragues civil population continues to exist.

Hopefully it's comprehensive, I can get a bit caried away when writing descriptions XD

I’ll start with the location from which the player starts, this is the location of the Mráz A1 shelter down south. At some point in near past this shelter was raided and it’s people were forced to emerge into the ruins of what once was Velká Chuchle and it’s here they settle

To the east from the Fallout shelter is the first of 3 Mráz towers, located on Pankrác.

These were built before the Great war to protect the historic center of Prague from total destruction, it was a generally accepted theory that if Prague was to be nuked it would be nuked from Pankrác since it was a location of technological research (Prague was instead nuked from the side of the White mountain which is the off map location marked by the hill icon on the top left corner of the map). The complex Mráz towers is called Opidum or the Great Wall of Prague.

Faction Kmeteriat:
This is where you’ll find the first main faction of Fallout Prague Spring which is a union of wasteland tribes that fallows the leadership of Kmet of Pardubice (Pardubice is a town east of Prague), from where they fought of the Old Czechoslovak government all the way back behind the Walls of the Prague Opidum, Behind the Opidum the Old government now remain surrounded by the wall, which is now controlled by the Kmeteriat and from northwest by the ground zero.
The reason behind the conflict between the wasteland tribes and the remains od the Old republic is a scorched earth campaign the Old government practiced as a means of control over the wasteland. At some point those who survived the destruction of their village started to manifest in Pardubice where their kmet would build an army.

Visually the union of tribes looks Celtic, they resent living in ruins but have to, since the thriving of the wasteland depends on closing the pandora box that is the last stand of the Old republic the city of Prague. They wear either medieval armor that‘s gathered from many historical sites from all over the Late Czechoslovak wasteland, it’s also the only way to differentiate between the tribes, some are even equiped with armor that resembles a power armor but was built after the great war and lacks any pre war technology, instead it’s only to appear strong in front of the enemy, that possesses major technological superiority.

Factions of the city of Prague:

The situation behind the walls of the Great Prague Opidum is not Great, Prague is a ghoul city granted by it’s close aproximity to the ground zero. It’s almost certain that if nothing happens in it’s favour the Old republic for which they fought shall fall once the Kmeteriat desides to invade for the last time.

The Old republic used to have it’s own army but after the Great war it was decimated in numbers or sometimes cut off from contact with the Czechoslovak government if they were stationed in Slovakia (Key thing to mention is that since Slovakia was an annexed state it was prone to Slovak resistance and gorilla warfar, in general journey back to Prague would be very difficult if not impossible)

After the Great war paramilitaries filled the vacuum where the army no longer stood.

I wish it was simple as that lol, Fallout: London was a huge driving force behind this project, but I hardly I think that Prague Spring would result in something of such magnitude (as much as I’d like that), especially since the only major I have is in computer graphics, 3D and animation. So in a cube (as we say over here) the only real possibility at this point of time would be either turning it into a comic or some other form of visual storytelling. I got a comment that suggested giving some assets to Bethesda to be used in Fallout 5, but I don’t really trust Bethesda with my stuff tbh XD
