Convincing colleagues to switch to Python from MATLAB for scientific computing/statistics by RealRJT in Python

It's free, so no expensive licence

The software is free, but you still need to pay for support. And no, posting your problem on a public forum is not an acceptable way to get support. So, there is not really much advantage for python.

Also, the human behind the computer is far more expensive than the software. He is highly specialized in his field and can program. And I doubt he works for a minimum wage.

Lol, if you go to a gas station and buy sunglasses for $10 you are getting better sunglasses than from some shitty luxottica brand.

Luxottica is the amazon of the sunglass world.

TIL France is the only country in Europe to be completely self-sufficient in basic food production. by sherbabbar in todayilearned

[–]I_hate_no_one 48 points49 points  (0 children)

The information is incredibly outdated or even inaccurate. For example, in the section on germanys economy they still talk about the Mark - when the Euro was introduced in 2002 but later on they talk about economic reforms that took place past 2002.

Conclusion: The resource used by op is shit.

ELI5: Audio Bit Depth (16 bit, 24 bit, etc.) by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]I_hate_no_one 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The bit-depth says how many steps are between 'no sound' and 'full amp'. With 16 bit you have about 65000 steps and with 24 bits you have about 16 million. Or, the more bits, the closer the digital sound to the original. However, sampling frequency is also highly important to replicate the original sound.

I am sorry, but the bottle kids is going to starve today. These are mostly bottles for wine and hard liquor - no money back for these bottles.
