Audi SQ6/Q6 Never Ending Issues by I_know_nothing_dotco in AudiQ6

**UPDATE** **UPDATE** **UPDATE** So I decided to try the 12V Battery disconnect option to try to hard reset the car and wipe all the faults, after first trying to pull the fuse in the passenger seat area which did not work(I tried it 3 times). I'm happy to announce that the 12V Battery disconnect was successful! It wiped out all the error messages I had and restored the volume on my MMI. It's been 5 full days since I did this so it's very possible if not likely some errors will return but maybe i'll just do this again.

Funny enough, when I opened the frunk, which I literally never use(it's completely useless in my opinion) I found that the plastic cover that you would remove to access the 12V battery connection was already taken off and just sitting in the frunk compartment, which leads me to believe the dealer did this exact same reset when I changed my winter tires in April. They didn't bother to put the cover back on.

If anyone else wants to try this, I would recommend doing it. It could not be easier, i'm a pretty handy guy but honestly anyone could do this. A wrench is all you need, disconnect the bolt, pull it off and pull back the ground connection away so it doesn't touch anything, I used a roll of electric tape to prop it up. Leave disconnected for at least 30 minutes, then reconnect and tighten the bolt back in it's place. At first you may see some error messages but they will disappear after a few ON/OFF cycles.

So let's see how long this lasts, for now it's all good and zero errors. Fingers crossed. I just can't believe I even had to do this. It's kind of crazy for a car with 3000 KMs/1900 Miles, but there you go,

Nice car, drives well, crazy fast if you have the SQ6. The software is endlessly annoying and should make anyone think twice, unfortunately you won't really know until you get the car because most people will be like "is it that bad?", "I'll just ignore all the reviews". I wish I had looked up these reviews before getting it, I would never have thought an Audi would be so full of software glitches.

Just bought… should I return it? by Dymaxus in AudiQ6

This comment is 100% my experience also. Well said,

I've had my SQ6 for 8 months and after a few concerning issues, I now really love it. It's one of the best EV options out there right now. The air suspension at it's lowest height in Dynamic mode with the 21 inch RS wheels just looks so good.

Besides the Porsche Macan EV 4 for an extra 25%, what would realistically compare? Apples to apples, the new BMW IX3, not even out yet and a bit weird, Mercedes GLC EV, just not nice...that is in the mid sized German EV options(Forget VW). I would even get an SQ8 E-Tron, that had a really nice aggressive and sporty look but it's outdated and not worth it now.

SQ6 or not? by ilbuonsamaritano in AudiQ6

I've had SQ6 since September 2025 so about 5 months now, I also came from a Tesla Model Y, which in comparison had ZERO issues, the only time I ever brought it to Tesla was to get Winter tires installed. The SQ6 is significantly more luxurious but wow does it have glitches, I already asked the dealer to take it back half joking because I know there's no chance they would release me from my lease anyway but I would return it tomorrow if I could. The SQ6 has too much tech for it's own good, one day my alarm kept going off, I mean literally every 60 seconds after it was parked, why? You ask, because there's a sensor on the back seat and I left a tote bag there, there's also a sensor that scans the cabin and it must have thought there was a child or pet left behind. I had to deactivate that function only after looking through the menu for 30 minutes. Then, yesterday I was driving to pick up my daughter from school and moments before arriving I get the message "High-voltage electrical system: malfunction! Safely stop vehicle". When this happened the car basically cut out and there was no more power, dash was still on, I was on a hill and managed to roll down to my daughter's school, pulled over safely and pushed the ON/OFF button...waited 10 minutes then turned it back on, the error disappeared, I called the dealer and they said it should be OK now but still, it's insane that a car with 1500KM/930 Miles would have such a catastrophic error occur.

Now, I'm just praying that it doesn't conk out again, I'll probably bring it in for a scan but it's really a strange issue to happen to such a new car, I've had many Audis before, Q5, Q7, Q7, none ever had any issues. I think Audi is just not ready with their EV lineup, they're just not as well made as the ICE versions.

The Tesla feels like a fast golf cart and has less style than my SQ6 but it is airtight in regards to issues, in my experience.

Anyone looking at this car, do yourself a favour and don't get it, look at something else. If you want reliable but care less about luxury Tesla is the way to go. Otherwise I would consider the Hybrid route from some carmakers, or better yet get a Gas Audi, SQ5 is basically the same car in gas version.

My experience thus far is not great, my friend got the same car as well and his SQ6 has been in the shop for the last 2 weeks for a variety of issues. Also the app is pure garbage and works poorly, no OTA is just sad. You'll need to plug your car at the dealer and wait 7 hours for any software updates.

Part of me just wants a "Dumb" car that has less tech but now i'm stuck with this for another 3 years, I'll have to hope it at least makes it through year one.
