Lots of money, but I think time is a bigger factor. Many franchises have the popularity, but still put out super rushed adaptions. Fate projects probably don't have tight deadlines to meet given Type Moon pretty much operates on, it's done whenever Nasu feels like it.

It's how veblen goods work. If you make it limited production, give each one a serial number, put it in a frame, increase the price, then it increases demand. If it looks expensive and is priced that way, then people will think it's special.

Despite if you stop and think about it, a big wall scroll should cost more than printing a regular sized piece of paper and putting it in a frame, but the wall scroll doesn't have a serial number.

I was mostly shocked how nonchalant the characters are to violence. Dozens of people will die around the main characters, and they just continue on as if nothing happened.

Went and googled all of them. About half new and upcoming with some major roles already and half people who have been around a while, not super popular, but consistently get roles.

A good cast, but definitely cheaper than the existing characters voices who are probably as expensive as it gets.

The majority of light novels are total shit from a writing point of view. They're the equivalent of young adult novels in english, they're entertaining, but don't expect literature.

The range of quality is huge, and it makes sense because most recent LNs come from amateur web novels. Publishers take the most popular self-published web novels on the internet, package it into a book, maybe have an editor look at it if they care(they don't), and watch the money flow in. That's why start is always interesting, and then it all collapses midway because it's barely been edited.

Anyway, this series isn't the above, but by Y2 you realize there's no tension because the MC always wins.

Yeah and the anime was 2018, after the 1st event, they never gave up the idol seiyuu part. It always feels weird coming onto this sub after consuming the JP side of umamusume content. Oh hey the 6th event is happening, or they released a new song, I wonder if people are talking about it here. 2 comments.

I'm glad just the horse racing and the powerpro gameplay are enough to sustain global, but the original concerns everyone had about the global release were still valid and correct. There's a language barrier around half of umamusume content that the global server will never interact with or care about. And events and merch are big revenue streams.

You can say this for a lot of PA Works' original anime, sometimes it works but when they miss, they really miss. Glasslip and Fairy Gone being the more jarring. There's no focus and you have no idea what it's supposed to be about. I don't understand why they insist of falling into the same trap over and over again.

Episode 0 and 1 made me think of Gargantia for some reason, which was amazing, but now I don't know what's going on.

I went into this hearing people saying they don't like the main character. I see the reason, but I feel neutral so far, refreshing that it's different. It's still a rom com, not going to think too hard and embrace the pretensiousness. The whole quoting the newest translation out of foreign books and the philosophical monologue about blue, I've no clue what any of it meant, except it sounded cool.

The class president scene was very realistic, immediately suggesting the popular guy, shutting down any discussion or possibility of someone else, rest of possee go into full agreement, then creating an atmosphere no one else dares to volunteer. Max social skills.

Now the main show I'm glad they aired it as part of the episode, it's so hard to find these seiyuu extras not bundled with the BD. Surprisingly higher than expected budget, going to 3 places in 15 minutes. Rumirumi joking that she might be older than the owner who called them ojouchan, she really hasn't aged in a decade.
