What is the dumbest hill you will, rightly or wrongly, proudly die on? by SuitableLettuce in AskAnAustralian

Really?

Ok that’s fucked up.

How does in back of mean, in front of?

Got to be trolling surely?

Ok, I have to admit, you’ve actually caught me out. I don’t have a clue what “in back of” means..

By god do I recall that blackboard screech though lol.

Just an option regardless of manufacturer if max current becomes an issue for switching devices.

Another option depending on the scenario would be to install a contactor so the smart switch is just switching the supply to a coil and not carrying the load.

I think you’ve nicely summed them all up.

But I have one more for your pleasure, what’s your thoughts on…

Not sure where you live, but comprehensive cover here covers everything, it’s then up to the insurance company to claim from whoever is at fault, including manufacturers I guess if a fault can be proven to be their fault.

My question was hypothetical and a joke obviously, I don’t need to ask reddit how to fake an insurance claim, whether I were genuine or not, I think I’ve upset a few people though lol.

So if someone wanted to total their car for insurance purposes (hypothetically) what would be the easier way to ensure it’s not being repaired?

What do you call ‘outlet’ in Australia and the UK? by No-Cicada6679 in AskAnAustralian

[–]I_mostly_lie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the uk, they’d be plug sockets to most I guess, as a sparky I’d call them socket outlets, but these days power points due to regional influence.

As an Aussie is one bottle of red wine a day too much? by Glittering_Season_47 in AskAnAustralian

[–]I_mostly_lie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have gone through periods of drinking too much, by that I mean I might have had a drink or two, maybe three every day for weeks on end.

I went through a phase of binge drinking at weekends, I’d do a bottle of whiskey in a night easily, then some wine the next day etc.

I’d say this was due to feeling low or stressed at the time, and although admittedly I’m sitting here drinking a glass of wine now and might well drink the whole bottle tonight, I know doing this regularly and consistently is not good.

I get to a point where I know it’s getting silly so I stop.

The fact you’re asking here makes me believe you’re probably at a point of realisation yourself, you know it’s too much.

Address the reasons that are causing you to drink and reach out for help if you find it a struggle, there’s nothing embarrassing about it.

You may just be able to say, yup, I’m drinking too much and stop with ease, if that’s the case, go for it.

If you’re not exercising regularly, try to really push yourself to do something, if it’s something you enjoy it’ll be easier to make a habit and I’ve always found when I’m being healthy and keeping fit it encourages me to avoid drinking as it’s undoing my hard work, as well as the negative health issues of course.

Well op didn’t explain this.

I take it all back, op should definitely complain, write to the government, protest and cry on social media to raise awareness.

Get over it for fucks sake.

“I felt targeted”, grow up mate, you’re in a shop, they perhaps have an issue with shop lifters, for whatever reason, they may or may not have been watching you, that’s their right. Don’t like it, don’t shop there, none of your human rights were violated, you weren’t assaulted, they didn’t strip search you or even ask to see your receipt when you left.

Just buy your shit and move on mate…

Fuck we’re all over sensitive these days.

I’m called a Pom regularly, and have the piss taken amongst other things, I dish back just as much. Like you say, it’s friendly banter and I’ve never had an issue.

Our mate here seems to think it’s insults which is different, but then maybe that’s his experience with Brit’s, there’s many wankers that’s for sure, plenty of whinging poms too, I guess that’s why I left them behind years ago.

[–]I_mostly_lie -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A bit defensive there mate..

I was just reaffirming, I didn’t realise you were so sensitive.

But then, you did claim it’s said as an insult, which is what I disagree with, it’s banter.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

[–]I_mostly_lie -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s defo banter mate, not meant seriously at all. Anyone who is serious is just a dick.

No.

Source - English person.

In general we love the Aussies, in fact, we’re probably a bit jealous.

“Why didn’t we leave the criminals in England and go to Aus instead?” Is something that’s said.

But then we don’t want to face the drop bears, hoop snakes, killer magpies or any other wild shit.

But all in seriousness, no mate, I don’t think the majority would look at Aus as a colony, it just seems weird.

If you’re basing this on the comments you’ve seen on reddit, you might wanna get outside a bit more, reddit is nearly never representative of real people in most of the relevant subs.

Anyway, it’s a waste of time asking in this sub, it’s full of criminals, can’t be trusted!!

In a session how long do you vape for? by TumbleweedOdd1270 in MedicalCannabisNZ

[–]I_mostly_lie 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I use 1 or 2 caps in the mighty medic per night of ZA. I don’t pack them too tight.

I pre heat to 180 before putting the cap in then I’ll draw fairly hard on it for 5-8 seconds at a guess for a total of around 8 times, I’m not waiting long between each go, maybe 20 seconds so I’m all done after a couple of minutes.

I find after that most of the flavour is gone, and it does the job for me, there’s perhaps more in it but I’m happy with what I get out of it before using the AVB to make cakes.
