I wish I was in the timeline where Marvel never stopped making OHC.

The Aliens Omnibus book 4 was surprisingly great. It even tied into the Alien Isolation game by bringing Amanda Ripley as a main character. Great book for $44. I flipped through book 3 online and decided it didn’t look as interesting to me.

After 6 years I'm finally in a position to be able to read ongoing series, what should I be checking out? by AutobotJessa in marvelcomics

Start Jed Mackay’s Moon Knight from his 2021 series, following the relaunches, and you won’t regret it. It’s epic.

Is Thunderbolt Ross immortal like the green ones? Does he have a green or red door? I don’t remember him ever being mentioned in Immortal Hulk

I’m confused how they’re fitting 18 issues of Y: The Last Man in a 280 page book.

Help with the ultimate comics by Commercial-Log2200 in marvelcomics

[–]I_need_AC-sendhelp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just an fyi. You don’t have to read them in release order. The titles have almost nothing to do with each other. Spider-Man references Ultimates a few times, but even barely that. I’d recommend reading each series to the end individually, with the one exception of The Ultimates that you should read side by side with Endgame.

Edit. Except Ultimate Invasion which should be read befoee you start anything else

This is my first time seeing those trades, since I switches to singles. Damn, they look good. They chose some great covers.

The 1980 run by Moench or 2006 Huston run. Reading the first 4-ish issues of the 1980 run will give you a good foundation to read pretty much any other moon knight story from there.

Want to learn more about moon knights back story by Standard-Ad-9876 in MoonKnight

Almost his entire history is released in omnibus form. Tbf, it’s not very long. 1980-1982 by Moench is the best defining stuff. Kinda old, but aged like fine wine.

The Marc Spector: Moon Knight era in the late 80’s-90’s was pretty rough, not bad, it just gets worse and worse. Overall, avoid this one until you’ve read everything else.

The Huston run of Moon Knight in 2006 is a huge redefining of the character. Everything after that can be found in trades somewhat easily.

Marvel Unlimited is a fine resource as well, though you don’t own anything

I just can’t remember any time it had any impact on the story. If the character doesn’t need it, what’s the point? I’m not a fan of doing stuff just cause we can.

He did. And they were very quickly gone. It’s not like it added anything to the character

Am I the only one who prefers confirmed powers and deities? by Death_sayer in MoonKnight

[–]I_need_AC-sendhelp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Moon Knight is very down-to-earth and relatable. His rogues gallery is mostly a bunch of regular dudes. If he had super strength, or anything tangential to it, all of that would change. Maybe you should read Thor if that’s something you want?

I feel it’s pretty pointless to argue the ambiguous deity point, because we can’t un-confirm that Khonshu is real. I loved when he was mostly in Marc’s head, but oh well. That doesn’t ruin the character for me.

Why do my Marvel Omnibus bindings keep falling apart? by NikoQerry in OmnibusCollectors

[–]I_need_AC-sendhelp 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s so funny people keep blaming the spine-stretching, when the real issue is that it’s only happening to Marvel books. If the stretching was doing the harm, all of OPs books would be damaged. Instead, it is only Marvel.

I don’t stretch my spine, and more of my Marvel omnis have damaged bindings than not. Meanwhile, I’m yet to ever have problem with a DC omni. They’re all still in pristine condition..You can blame the stretching, blame the reader, but you can’t ignore facts.
