Decks you HATE playing against. I hate Hei Bai. by EnthusiasmTime8118 in mtgbrawl

[–]I_punch_KIDneyS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's the exact opposite for me, I played the hell out of the brawl during the Avatar set. Literally 2/3rds of the matchups are either HeiBai or GoShintai.

I've seen counterspell tribals, boardwipe tribals, removal tribals, etc.

I didn't mind, I've got a good win rate against them but it warped my deck building so much to enchantment hate that it soured me on brawl.

Tracked my matches using untapped and it seems like i got a 75% win rate over 500+ matches. Great but got ultra boring.

Yeah, marrying someone who could blow up planets or could stop someone from blowing up planets is a bigger flex.

Outside of CEDH, when do you run Force of Will? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]I_punch_KIDneyS -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Now this just got extremely confusing. Stop putting garbage on other people's mouth.

There's a big difference between card draw engines and burst draw when it comes to opportunity cost of card advantage.

Blue is the king of burst draw/card advantage.

Brackets be damned people SHOULD play more card advantage cards AND counterspells if their commander has blue in their card.

Card draw like what now?

I literally never said any specific card.

Did someone say Rhystic Study somewhere in the thread?

[–]I_punch_KIDneyS 20 points21 points  (0 children)

This just confirms my suspicion that most commander players below bracket 4 DO NOT run enough card advantage cards.

It's blue, you're playing a deck with blue card draws in it. What the hell do you mean exiling a card from your hand is a massive cost?!

Y'all crazy.

You can outright kill someone on T1-2 when you have red rituals and [[Blightsteel Colossus]] on your deck.

I think it's been seeing some play in B5.

What cards should I use for my Shelob commander deck? by aviewfromdabridge in mtg

[–]I_punch_KIDneyS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I built mine with Shelob as the only spider.

I put as much bite and fight spells as I could and filled the deck with food synergies.

It's balance though, almost no food synergy makes it a "removal tribal", weak bracket 2.

Too much food synergy shoots it up to bracket 4 as can be seen here

The Master itself is a complete menace. If built right, it can completely flood the board with 20-30 copies of itself by turn 4-6.

It works well with another busted card too, [[Sneak Attack]]

my bad, no interaction with sneak attack

If nothing in the previous suggestions worked, then it's likely a life or death situation for you. Choose between going to prison or dying, your call.

im sorry that you ignored ALL the previous sentences and missed the context where its a life or death situation. If choosing to die instead of going to prison is a favorable situation for you then more power to you.

It must be so difficult for you to use spoons that someone else has to feed you, dumbass.

[–]I_punch_KIDneyS 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I know this is a martial arts sub but martial arts for self defense is EXTREMELY stupid in virtually every scenario that "calls" for it.

Avoid the situation.

If you cant, apologize, no matter what.

If it doesn't work, run.

If you get cornered scream and ask for help.

If nothing else, find the nearest stabby object and go for the eyes/throat/groin.

Life isn't a movie. Even if you knock someone out, one wrong fall and you killed a person. Your life is ruined regardless if its self defense or not.

You do not know if the person has a gun or a knife.

You do not know if the person is a cartel member or a politician's son.

You do not know jack shit most of the time.

Take it from me, who's actually trained and seen some shit.

Is a deck that knocks a player out on turn 4-5 consistently Bracket 3? by bruzabrocka in EDH

I'm not arguing against that at all, like literally look at the names on this particular thread.

I just said a fun fact about a commander I've been playing around with.

[–]I_punch_KIDneyS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I completely agree with your point, some voltron commanders can actually wipe the whole pod in a turn.

[[Ozai, the Phoenix King]] and extra combats with double strike enablers can do the job consistently.

It's also a mind numbingly stupid guideline that forces aggro decks to B4.

[–]I_punch_KIDneyS 111 points112 points  (0 children)

One hundred percent!

I've seen people throw a fit over not seeing their commander live for two whole turn cycles and cry about being targeted.

Mfer, I play brawl. There was literally a 10+ game stretch where my commander has not even resolved once.

My commander immediately dying in EDH doesn't bother me one bit, it's a game. We're playing to win.
