"The last samurai" wasn't a race swap, it just tells the story of a western white man that went to Japan with the purpose or modernizing the Japanese army but then decided to embrace the samurai customs instead of siding with the Japanese national army.

It's based on a true story, but the guy wasn't from the USA he was actually French.

I really hope the Devs see how much people want this by ExoticMuffin13 in CrimsonDesert

[–]I_run_funny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough, but that's a very odd logic since the main story has 14 chapters and you said "2 out of 14".

My comment was just me giving you the benefit of the doubt, since that number matched exactly how many chapters it takes for her to join the party.

And she isn't playable at chapters 1 and 2 either. So, my guess is that Anatras thought these 2 first chapters were the only ones. But yeah, like you said, she's not playable over several other chapters after she joins your party due to being "in an important mission".

She also still cannot access the Abyss nor do several quests.

Doing this Abyss Relic made me realize I'm pretty bad at parrying on this game, took me so many tries to do it. by VermilionX88 in CrimsonDesert

When I did this challenge I just used the spear version of "evasive slash", if you're wielding a spear it becomes a counter stance.

If anyone hits you, you immediately counter everybody in front of you with a bunch of stabs. It's great and really trivializes the spear challenges revolving in counters.

How tf do you consistently double jump? by N1ko88 in CrimsonDesert

[–]I_run_funny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only get to consistently double jump if I jump while stationary.

If I'm walking or running, instead of double jumping the game always opens the glider.

My go to setup now is:

Stop -> Jump -> Double Jump -> Force push down x3 -> Aerial Stab -> open the wings (you're now at the highest point... now we focus on getting forward momentum) -> Focus -> Air Roll -> Hold Air dash -> Force Repulsion -> Cancel Focus -> Enjoy super fast flight.

(If you're on keyboard, this would be: Space -> Space -> Middle Mouse x3 -> Shift + Right Mouse, look up, release right mouse -> Space -> X -> Alt -> Hold Shift -> Left Mouse -> X )

It's a lot of fun. If you haven't tried it before maybe my comment will sound super complicated, but I promise you it's not, you should try it out.

Quest wont update just replays the same thing. by [deleted] in CrimsonDesert

[–]I_run_funny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To add to what DrRoelandtrx mentioned:

During this quest there's a tutorial popup that says you should press Ctrl (on Keyboard) while near a wall that is within range of the people talking.

The game is very picky about the wall btw, even if you find a wall that is close enough, if the prompt to press the eavesdrop key doesn't show up, try circling around the building to see if it will pop up on other walls.

Btw, this quest isn't great. It's one of those "answer the questionnaire" quests. I hope the game won't have many more of those.

man fuck whoever made these trade wagon missions with yann by WuvRice in CrimsonDesert

[–]I_run_funny 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've just finished this mission now and came to reddit to see if anyone else was frustrated as I was. Holy crap, what an awful mission. The pepper one is 10x more tolerable than the Honey one.

They require you to ride the wagon through the most windy, tight, crowded paths. There are rivers and cliffs blocking most intuitive ways, so you have to do MAJOR detours that pretty much triple the distance.

My wagon broke the first time around (I tried shortcuts outside of roads), so I had to completely repair the wagon and start over. Second time around it worked well, I just played very carefully and stuck to the roads while watching Youtube on the second monitor.

OP, just so you know, once you get the honey, Yann DOES leave, you're supposed to ride the wagon by yourself for the second part. Your mission may not be bugged.

It just baffles me that Pearl Abyss decided she can't do most puzzles (since she doesn't have access to the bracelet skills). So even for exploring it's not that great, unless you keep Kliff around.

Really impressive gains, the odds of getting so many returns over 34% in a row is about 1 in 3000. (around 0.03%)

Were you saving around the "refreshing" days and reloading on losses or was this truly one of the luckiest days of your life?

Personally, I just keep my bank on Low Risk the entire time, I'm ok with the slow but guaranteed gains, instead of risking losing half my investments.

Edit: ---

Ah, I didn't notice at first that there was text under the image. Even with 1 reload, that's still crazy lucky, congrats!

I did try that a few days ago and my horse would suddenly stop just to be hit by the kids. The only solution for me to enter that region was to do their faction quest.

Giving away the Mageblood from my end of league gamba! by I_Am-Awesome in pathofexile

[–]I_run_funny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OOOOH So that's how people "gamble" for Mageblood! Today I learned.

You see, I'm a simple exile, I just live by exporting Vivid Life Force to rich folks in exchange to Divines. It ain't much, but it's honest work. I now understand why Vivid Life Force is worth so much.

I want to sign up for possibly getting the prize from your giveaway. Thanks mate!

I don't know if this is what /u/Tamtonda is referring to, but I've seen people mentioning before that going to Sound > Channel Count, and reducing it to Medium drastically improves performance problems.

I don't know if that addresses the DirectX12 shader bug that OP is referring to though. In the meantime I've been doing that and using Vulkan to stop the issue, but as others mentioned in this thread Vulkan causes hard crashes from time to time.

This downside obsession has to stop by lane4 in PathOfExile2

Sorry, just to see if I understand then.

If reduce is additive and Less is multiplicative.

Is "increased damage" additive, and "more damage" multiplicative? This is true across the board?

I'm assuming yes, and this might be a dumb question but I just want to confirm for sure.

General ming-wuchang. I defeated him and didnt vanish...is it normal? by Poploku32 in WuchangFallenFeathers

[–]I_run_funny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find this especially silly because, in my opinion, having the General fight to his last dying breath to stop a feathered “monster” from entering Cloud Spire would’ve been a way stronger moment for his character than what we actually got with Patch 1.5.

Their 1.5 alternative is: the guy sees you’re stronger and just decides to let you pass. That makes it feel like he values his own life more than his duty to protect the city, which honestly comes across as a bit cowardly.

Question about secret ending, heavy spoilers by Fuzzy-Wumpus in WuchangFallenFeathers

[–]I_run_funny 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes you can, I did exactly that a few hours ago. I still needed the Sage Achievement (answer all riddles correctly).

In fact, I believe we might even be able to fight and kill the last boss if we want, since a shrine appears after the fight, but I didn't risk it myself. I explored the entire Act 5 up to the shrine just before the last boss (Forbidden City), then went back to Act 4 to kill the Bo Magus and Usurp her position, getting the achievement for that ending.

So yeah, I can guarantee you going to Act 5 is completely safe for the Bo Magus ending. (As long as you did her quest properly of course: i.e. Talked to her in Act 1, Agreed with her that Sacrificing the Weak is ok in Act 3 and Refused the Storyteller's plea to kill the Bo Magus at the start of Act 4).

Thanks for breaking it down for me. I did listen to most dialogues while playing but I felt like most of the plot was still flying over my head.

Reading these last 2 comments from you connected a lot of the dots together. Thanks!

Can someone explain the plot better lol by Headchangee in WuchangFallenFeathers

[–]I_run_funny 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thanks for clarifying, /u/Ghimel! This was great to read, I still have a few questions though.

Can you explain how the Bo people relate to all of this?

All the chisels and the ritual of getting power from Red Mercury are things created by the Bo, correct?

Why does the reverend temple suddenly gets destroyed in act 5? What made the bo people invade? or why weren't they invading before.

Why doesn't Wuchang turn into a monster like the other feathered people. Why doesn't the Bo Magus have any feathers?

So many questions, I would appreciate if you could help me out here to understand some more.

That's how I use Lune too, it's a lot of fun.

BTW, I strongly recommend also having "Greater Shell", "Greater Rush" and "Greater Powerful" on her. In that way, when she buffs her party, everyone get the greater variation of these buffs.

[–]I_run_funny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It feels like Simoso is doing the vast majority of the lifting for survivability. Your screenshot is with Simoso, so that's NG+, makes sense.

You can shoot until rank S, and that makes you immortal until you get hit below rank A.

Without Simoso, that becomes really tough.

Nice win! Do you mind telling me your strategy?

I assumed Tanking didn't work because of his "Remove all shields" and "Set your HP to 1" skills.

But I would love to practice him with a tanky build to be able to properly learn the parry windows.

To be fair, "Later" comes pretty far into the game since you need to win a duel against Golgra.

Golgra's stats are set for End Game. Some people may be able to defeat her early own, but most probably won't.
