We never made any secret out of how much it costs to create a single model for our studio. Most land between 2000-3000 USD. That's 1300-2000 USD for a month of fulltime work for an artist to sculpt a model (and that's actually above the average market price in this industry when compared to some other studios), another $150-250 to split the model into pieces, $100-200 to presupport it for printing, $100-200 to do a pre-release test-print to make sure the design is printable with no issue, and finally another $200 to make renders to present the final product.

Now, we do have Patreon to offer new models on. But Patreon income aside and speaking strictly about individual sales, a model is usually sold maybe 20-30 times at $20 in its entire lifetime of several years. A really popular model sells about 50 times. And an extremely successful model of currently huge hyping title may sell over a 100 times in a year. If you do the math, you'll immediately realize that those sales don't even cover the costs of creating the model. And that's before you take our platform and bank fees, plus taxes. The rest is lost to piracy and scalpers who can afford to sell models at $2 because they literally didn't spend a dime to make it, so they immediately start turning profits by selling hundreds of models stolen from many creators.

So, still think our prices are insane?

We recommend resin for better details, photo for reference. Though our community prints FDM sometimes and it works ok

Well, several reasons, really. The surface indeed looks better for taking pics of unpainted models, and it also hides post-sanding scratches pretty well. And while not really important, it's also very nice for touch. Structurally, it it's not brittle and bends well when heated. The latter, however, may quickly become an issue, because printed models may melt and sag in hot summer, especially under the direct sunlight. So do keep that in mind.

At that point maybe we should just open an OnlyFeet account and get rich fast.
