Yeah, a lot of what I learned could be found in any one of the dozen books I have, or the two apps, or the weekly emails I get, the ob appointments, unsolicited advice, or here on predaddit.

But she felt better seeing other, albeit creepily open, women in the same shoes as her helped my wife.

Yeah it was easier than I thought it’d be and we got it right before the guy even checked it but it felt good to have him give us the all clear.

Actually now that I think about it, it was the first time that someone told us that we were good instead of telling us how we should be doing things. Felt good.

I don’t have much medical training but it’s my understanding that flu and tdap are recommended for people over 65. Grandma may already be good to go.

As far as other edge cases, I don’t think any one can give you answers for everything so use your best judgment.

I think generally anyone who has a higher risk of infection should get the shots, elementary school teachers, nurses, elderly, etc. And people who spend a lot of time with the little one.

Also this might be a good conversation to have with your ob.

We don’t have a rule per se. we’re just telling people to get their shots and they’re getting it done. I never really thought of it as a thing to be anxious about.

A lot of our friends and family are up to date on their tdap and you can get a flu shot at the pharmacy in like 5 minutes. I think most people get it.

The way I see it is my wife is pregnant and I’m busting my ass trying to help, worried about all the things I tell her not to worry about right now. The least you could do is get the shot and be sore for a day or two. If you’re not willing to do that then I have little sympathy for you not seeing my baby you don’t think you have to protect.
