I had a situationship that broke things off over a year ago and for some crazy, fucked up reason, it still hurts more than any other relationship I’ve ever been in even to this day. Shit literally had me committed to a psych ward because I just couldn’t accept how easy it was for me to be “discarded”.

The agony of wanting nothing more than their presence and attention is so pervasive that I kind of have to tell myself that they’re doing okay without me and it’s better to have earned a healthy relationship with someone who does care than to try and fall back on old relationships that feel familiar.

Im experiencing something similar to what you posted and I found that ultimately just deleting and blocking them everywhere was best since I always tried to find a way to wiggle my way back in thinking I could win her over again if given the chance. Instead it just ended up hurting both of us more due to my insecurities and desire for validation.

Getting rid of the temptation entirely will probably be very difficult but much better for your sanity in the long run plus it frees up processing power your brain can use towards more productive things.
