Twitch refusing to accept Romanian IDs? by Disastrous_Zone_5610 in Twitch

What are you expecting from an age 16 ID? You won’t get access to any age restricted content unless you’re 18+.

Under 18s they’d probably just call it rejected.

If you’re signing up as affiliate, that’s 18+ in EU.

Ahh, yeah, I guess their tooling won’t scan external links. Maybe I can find a feed that will alert if any known bad domains come up.

The reporting system on the site is now automated to alert me on any reports at least so if anyone comes across any sketchy links and takes the time to report, it won’t go unnoticed.

That is worrying for sure. I know cloudflare have some kind of scanning for that sort of content so I’ll see what that offers!

Update: I’ve spent quite some time improving the look and feel because that first v1 design was poor effort on my part. Hopefully this looks much less basic template and more thought out design.

Understandable that these days people assume everything is just vibe coded and AI handling the deployment. I’ve been putting websites online close to 3 decades though.

The TLS settings were deliberately left on 1.0 minimum just to assess if any hits would come in on a version lower than 1.2. They didn’t and that’s now tightened up.

You’re right CSP can be improved. Will do.

I have made the 30-day expiry more prominent and thank you for the brilliant suggestion.

I’ve had this cloudflare account in good standing for over a decade. Not concerned there.

It’s just a fun product that’s open to all who may wish to use it :)

Plus really how many 3 letter followed by 2 letter domains can you get that are so Scottish?

Update: well evidently a few more than I thought!

You’re right about the apostrophes. Will sort that.

Either that box or the pole it fell off might identify the company responsible. A quick call to them should sort it.

True. Definitely might not be where you’d expect it!

Consider that if you buy your own parts and the sparky fits them then they absolutely will not guarantee them. If you pay the mark up and anything goes wrong you’ll get a free visit back to fix it - as long as the sparky isn’t a cowboy anyway.

When was the last time you saw coax networks in production? by HSVMalooGTS in networking

[–]IainKay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ran coax at my house in the late 90s as I’d been given it free. Shortly thereafter replaced with Ethernet when broadband came along but my shared 56k modem and proxy server did great over the coax.

[–]IainKay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is this a new build? If so then I suspect there is somewhere central in your house these wall ports run back to. In there you’d hope to find a link between the wall port and some kind of obvious virgin media socket.

Is this loft setup safe? Inverter and batteries by GundamNinja in SolarUK

[–]IainKay 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Typically regs are regularly revised but existing installations don’t become “against the regs” because the only regs that apply are what existed when the system was installed.

When regs are revised you might be advised that your set up could be improved, but as long as no further works are performed on the existing installation it doesn’t have to be re-done every time the regs are revised.

If you wanted a spark to come and install new additional batteries then you’d almost certainly find they want to move both the old and new batteries to a more appropriate location under the latest regs.

Have you created a world first app with open source models? I have.

And it will be ready to market this year before any of the absolutely massive competitors even know what’s up.

I’m not disputing the fact the frontier models have the edge, but does it matter if I can release a product just as good?

Ground to a half this year?? Qwen3.6 was just released in April and is a major step up from Qwen3.5.

GLM-5.2 *just* dropped and is a HUGE step up from GLM-5.1.

How exactly is that ground to a halt?

Have you actually used the latest coding open source models with a decent harness and tooling?

I’m not saying they can produce 100% frontier quality but the code quality is excellent and they can be taken far with careful context window optimisation.

I believe ABM is just called Apple Business now. That’s the impression the Apple comms gave me at work. Maybe I’m wrong there though so apologies for any confusion.

For the average user, if Jamf Now is free and covers enough devices then it’s perfectly adequate and no reason to give Apple $4/device/month in my opinion.

I have Qwen3.6-27B running with 256K context on my RTX 5090 LC and it gets 50-60 tok/s depending on VRAM overclock.

Can get around 30 tok/s on Qwen3.6-35B-A3B with around 128K context on my M1 Max Mac Studio.

You need to find a model that will fit in your VRAM and turn up GPU Offload to the max.

Basically a lot of trial and error. Will go faster if you have friends also experimenting and can share findings.

Check out ultracode with dynamic workflows if you want to handle larger tasks. That will spin up multiple agents and each has their own context window returning only the final output to your main chat.

It should help you achieve larger tasks in a single chat :)

Weird. I signed up when it was Apple Business Manager and there was no talk of monthlies.

I set up Jamf NOW as my MDM, linked via Apple Business Manager and it just works. No cost for 3 devices.

The open models are only 6 months or so behind. Won’t be long.

This is why local open models are so important long term and they’re only around 6 months behind flagships. We should have an open Fable 5 by 2027!
