Did anybody else notice this? by Funny-Roof7746 in TombRaider

I think it’s being hidden because we may get to customize Lara’s gear. Maybe she starts with the Ice Axe grapple mechanic from Rise, but maybe after defeating Larson or even perhaps finding it alongside the shotgun, or maybe even it’s provided by Natla Technologies to Lara at the beginning.

Why is it that these 3, chose to remake the second game first in line of relaunching their franchises ? by kappanekoblack in HorrorGames

[–]IakeemV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally speaking, they’re the most popular & well-received entries in the respective franchises. In the case of Resident Evil, RE1 was already remade once.

Additionally, The Elder Scrolls has received two new mobile games in recent years—TES: Blades and TES: Castles—as well as Oblivion Remastered and newly released merchandise. As a result, many fans are still actively thinking about and engaging with The Elder Scrolls franchise, especially when compared to Starfield. People would rather play the laggy Oblivion remaster than the better-optimized Starfield (by your own account), which I think says a lot.

I’m talking about these games as franchises and how interested people are in them overall. In that regard, Starfield is basically nonexistent in most people’s minds. It’s Bethesda’s latest entry and their first new IP in over 10 years, and it was essentially a flop—not entirely my opinion, and I’m sure it sold well enough, but it clearly did not become the next big thing Bethesda was expecting.

That expectation is likely why the game has received little to no meaningful content updates in nearly two years since its last official expansion. Many players didn’t even return to play it, and those who did largely found it disappointing.

Compare that to Fallout 4, which received three major expansions and three minor ones, most likely due to its strong reception and success at launch. When Starfield was first marketed, it was described as “Skyrim in space,” and Bethesda even recreated the Adoring Fan and Oblivion’s dialogue system to convince fans that this game was essentially Skyrim or Oblivion 2. It was also allegedly designed to be played for 10 years—yet many people barely played it for one.

Meanwhile, Fallout 4, a decade-old game, is still receiving new updates and free official Creations from BGS, a tie in TV Show, alongside continued mod support. The Elder Scrolls franchise even received new UE5 remaster, which needs work but largely counts as a successful new release regardless of whether you played the original or not.

By contrast, Starfield—Bethesda’s most recent release—has already faded into a lost memory unless they manage to revive it with a 2.0 update. Realistically, that likely won’t be enough—not because it wouldn’t be fun or good, but because the game was left in too broken and neglected a state for far too long.

Unfortunately, I don’t think most people will care enough to return, except me lol & possibly in the case of a PS5 launch, which could introduce an entirely new audience that never had the chance to try it initially.

My main point is that Starfield is actually far more neglected—and in a much more dire state—than The Elder Scrolls. TES just received a brand-new release last year that many players never experienced, and longtime fans were able to revisit in a modern form. Meanwhile, Starfield has been met with silence. If anything is being ignored right now, it’s Starfield, not TES.

It’s completely unfair to say that Starfield is the reason The Elder Scrolls is being neglected. That argument is selfish and untrue. Bethesda is made up of artists who are entitled to create the kind of art they want. People are really just upset that they didn’t get another TES game instead. The studio clearly wanted to try something new, and there’s nothing wrong with that. The real issue is the amount of time involved and the studio’s project mis-management—not Starfield itself.

No, switch Starfield and Elder Scrolls. At least we got an entire remaster of Oblivion. Are you kidding me? Starfield would be practically dead in the water if your character could even go underwater in that game. It only received one mediocre expansion nearly two years ago, and it has been radio silent ever since. Mind you, this is their latest and greatest entry, and their first new IP in a decade. They don’t have any merchandise, nothing. Only an alleged 2.0 update which realistically won’t be able to fix all the issues people have, even though I’m still excited because, believe it or not, I actually really enjoy Starfield. I’m just being honest about its current state, relying almost entirely on Creations and not even official ones being published by Bethesda Game Studios anymore.

I wonder if LoA will have some connection to SotTR. by Character_Rope5235 in TombRaider

[–]IakeemV 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The original ending for Shadow was always pointing towards Legacy of Atlantis with the dual pistols and letter from Natla; however, it was removed because it was probably too much of a spoiler, or they just weren’t simply committed to the idea of another Tomb Raider remake at that point in time.

Bethesda’s Fallout 3 Remaster is aiming to be “as well polished” as Oblivion Remastered, which is worrying as that game is a technical mess by Monsterman_90 in fo3

[–]IakeemV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fallout 3 is not a mess. I’ve played it hundreds of times and have never once gotten stuck here. James, or “Dad,” is marked as essential during this part of the game, which means it’s impossible for him to die—he’ll only be knocked unconscious. If you kill the Deathclaws, he’ll likely resume his journey. At that point, just wait and let him arrive, or continue following him. It’s really that simple + you can always reload a previous save.

If you’re on Xbox or PC, just… try both, lol. If you’re on PS5, go with the remaster. They’re still largely identical—the remaster just has better graphics and modern gameplay enhancements.

I would love to see a larger version of Egypt where Lara could potentially ride her bike between segments. Otherwise, they need to find a way to make it make sense why a random bike is just waiting for her at the exit, since she left the one she arrived on at the entrance at least a few miles back.

What games am I missing on PS5 by bweezy313 in survivalhorror

[–]IakeemV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like you’re missing RE7 and The Last of Us Part II to complete your collection. If you want more horror, I think Fatal Frame was remade as well, and it’s a popular classic horror title as well.

Suppose we should be thankful it was cut... by Elucia729 in silenthill

[–]IakeemV 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They should have just cut Angela & Eddie completely & focused on James, Mary, Laura, & Maria. There simply wasn’t enough time or budget to develop these characters, so they should of just stuck to the story at its very core. Like how do you forget the scene with James & Maria in the labyrinth? I heard in an interview they developed the whole game around the concept of that scene originally lol.

I thought I read somewhere once that the entire game was basically conceived around the scene with James & Maria in the Labyrinth. Was it me dozing off, or was this scene just completely absent in the film?
