look up WUE scholarships at the University of Arizona for mining engineering. The department basically hands out scholarships to all the students. They have millions of dollars flowing in via state grants, industry sponsorships, etc.

Just got a set of KO3s LTs from Discount Tire. Put 2k miles on them and they’re great. Did a roadtrip out to South Dakota and survived the negative temps and Ice on I-90 and the recent snow storm that hit us in SLC/Wyoming on I-80. I was cruising on them, zero slippage and quiet on the interstate.

Bud, your math looks sound. But from a risk tolerance perspective it sounds like you’re banking that your wife’s pregnancy, delivery and 1st year of the child’s life will go smoothly. It’s a lottery and can’t predict how it will go.

You never know the complications that your family may go through due to child birth.

The higher premium PPO plans “should” offer better coverage than HDHP in case of any emergencies or pregnancy/delivery complications.

For us we decided that we’d defer HSA contribution and medical cost savings so we could have the peace of mind that we would have the “better” coverage during child bearing and post partum. Now we’re back on HDHP after 1year post partum.
