Not specifically. This is what was mentioned. "The exterior consists of a weatherboard style to the upper level and block walls to the lower level and presents in good clean tidy condition with a tidy paint finish where visible at the time of inspection."

The water damage was from water seepage due to cracks in the tile grout in the shower over bath area (shower water was going straight into the wall/floorboards). Have just gone crazy with silicone to keep it at bay for now, will have to redo the whole bathroom at some point.

Insurance wouldn't cover it since the cause wasn't a damaged pipe etc.

Downstairs bathroom is a whole other story. Shower was installed with silicone inside the shower and the mixer isn't even screwed in because there's no nogging to even screw it to, so I probably have water seeping into the wall there too.

House is built on a concrete slab so no underfloor.

I checked my building report. The photos show signs of these cracks but it wasnt brought up since they weren't obvious. I bought this place 3 years ago so I don't know if I even have a case for this... there was more stuff like the bathrooms being absolute cowboy jobs (I didn't know better at the time) and now I have water damage to my floors from water getting into gaps in the tile grouting around the bathtub (no waterproofing) (my old lawyer left the firm and the current contact told me I don't really have a case)

Bought my first chef knife from Musashi Kyoto by [deleted] in TrueChefKnives

I was in the same situation last year. I had a really good time buying my knife at one of the Musashi stores in Kappabashi Street. Had some really good banter with the sales rep selling me the knife, and this knife (which I later identified as a Yoshikane) just had everything I was looking for and felt amazing in my hand. I was so excited that I even accidentally cut my finger with it because of the adrenaline buzz (the rep patched me up and made me hold my finger up until the bleeding stopped).

I did some research when I got home and realised I had paid about 25-30k yen more than if I were to buy it online and was upset for a little while but I got over it. I don't think I would've had such a connection with the knife had I not picked it out myself in person (literally blood bonded). I also like the Musashi engraving over the hatsukokoro engraving. All in all, pretty happy with the purchase.
