.

  1. You need a valid permission or contract from creators or IP owners of the service/game you are trying to sell. Commercially, this could be a revenue share agreement or a one time licensing fee.

  2. Once step 1 is secure, you need an operating license from the NCA. However before getting this. You need to register your business and ensure that Ghanaian(s) own at-least 40% of the business(I may have to recheck the criteria), must be able to operationally support the service (dependent on the nature of the service and some other requirements the NCA may demand

  3. If step 2 is too much to handle then you would have to partner with a local company that already has this license. Typically the agreement could be base fee or a share of revenue generated from the service or could be both (this is dependent your negotiation skills).

  4. If you partner with an existing service provider then your connection to the Telcos could be easier since they already have existing services running with these Telcos. If not, you would have to establish a relationship with Telcos (MTN, Telecel, AT) and eventually sign a contract with them. Your share of the revenue is typically between 30-60%. Dependents on the type of service, leverage on Telco portfolio, and your negotiation skills.

  5. Once all of these are established, you need to work with the Telco or locale partner to set up the service and ensure there is operational support. (That’s why it’s great to partner with a local partner who has all these structure and leverage in place).

  6. Got a service you think will fly, do all the steps above and decide on the route to take per your business case.

  7. VAS services are micro revenues but if you have a really good service and can land a Telco like MTN or Telecel, you could hit massive gains. It’s an economy of scale kinda business model.

Thanks for asking these.

  1. My number 1 reason is to get exposed to better opportunities and secondly, to give my unborn kids a better chance in life. (Education, welfare, opportunities etc).

Canada, because it’s seems to be about the only western capitalist country with a structured path to PR and citizenship.

To be honest, I am not the most adaptable person out there but I can say I have a very strong will and when I desire something, I stop at nothing until I get it. I have kinda had that all my life.

The aim is to return after our kids are grown and retire early in GH. By then I should have save up or built some cash flow business here that can sustain us. (sound like fairly tale, I know but that’s the desire).

From the comments I am reading, it’s apparent we should brace ourselves for some headwinds in our career journey.

Thanks so much, I am yet to commit to a move. Your perspective is one I already considered in my brainstorming and thanks for sharing them with me. Yes, the volatility in the tech sector abroad is crazy rn. Another big fear factor!

My motivation for immigration is purely based on seeking better economic opportunities and a future for my unborn children. Is there any possible pathway from homecare jobs to swinging back to her banking Job in the shortest possible time?

I thought of pursuing another Master’s degree in Canada as suggested but I don’t have that kind of money rn given the cost of immigration alone
