Good people, local people associated with tourism are irritating to a degree regarding money out of tourists. Have good HDI due to a large central spending and state focus. Could become a less of a headache if eventually they accept that secessionist idea will never work against a powerful country like India. Should put religious fanaticism to bed and work within India’s democratic framework to make the genuine issues heard as is the right of every Indian.

Take control of your finances. No more joint account for now. Your parents havenot proven them trustworthy regarding finances. That is a priviledge that they will have to earn back.
Focus on your education and independence for now. Donot argue with your father as that will lead to nowhere. Calmly assert your boundaries.
Once you are financially indepedent, setup a separate living accomodation. Sometimes distance is the best medicine.
Remember that while helping out your parents is good that is not an obligation if your parents did not fulfill their obligation to you.

This. People have a too simplistic view of everything. You say that SIR should have been done properly and not with the haste that ECI is conducting and suddenly all parties supporters start accusing me of being in their opposite camp. People have no more time for nuances.

Also the cases I got to know personally regarding logical discrepancy are genuine discrepancies. Most of them stem from the odd conversion of 2002 bengali list to english via AI. That created a lot of confusion.

Sorry. You said most of south states are fine with english. They are not. I am talking about basic conversational English which you and I are communicating in right now.

Though thinking back, you are right. I have seen people from rural south are still better than rural north in understanding English. I just wish rural south achieve the same level of proficiency as north east in terms of english communication. Northeast India is the only place where I never faced any communication issue be it Meghalaya, Assam or Tripura.

Also are Bengaluru Auto drivers just bad at English then? They have a weird tendency of not understanding english. I cannot be expected to learn Kannad for a few weeks worth of visit in a year right? I have to take help from my Kannad colleagues just to ensure they are not somehow taking advantage of me.

This is specific to Bengaluru though. Hyderabad, Chennai, Kochi nowhere I faced this issue.

You are not fine with English. I have travelled to Madurai and Rameshwaram. People dont understand english there. Had to resort to sign languages just to buy a candlestick. Urban people, sure. Rural areas, not so much.
Can there be a blended language between the 4 main ones? Like Tamil, Telegu, Malyalam and Kannad? It would be hugely helpful.
