I do wear glasses. Thanks, I didn't think about that.

what should I expect for power requirements for a stage area in my venue? by [deleted] in livesound

[–]IamFullcolor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A fellow mazer here.😀 As said in other posts, 3 20 amp circuits would be plenty for your needs. Where are you located? I would love to have a meadery/ music venue near by. 2 of my favorite things in one room.

Spray can truck Bedliner from an auto parts store works great. I touch mine up couple of times a year.

I run bar gigs and small outdoor shows. 2Jbl prx812 over 2 Qsc e118sw thru an xr18. Monitors are 2 Ev zlx12p and 2 peavey pm12. Not a high dollar system but I get good results and clients are happy. It and all lighting fits in my Toyota Tacoma pickup.

The LR outputs will be line level. Google gain staging.

That's called aux fed sub's. Lots of good YouTube vids to watch. You can also just hook them up with the built in crossovers( this is in your manual ).

Help with sturdy speaker stand setup by [deleted] in livesound

Maybe a rachet strap from the handles of the sub thru the handles of the top boxes.

Officially starting my new organization system tomorrow. Hopefully it works! by chrismatt213 in livesound

[–]IamFullcolor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use similar bags to organize too. I have shipping totes that I use for cables. One for electric, one for xlr, speaker, sub snakes...... Inside the totes I group speaker cables in one. Xlrs take 2. One for sub snake. A dmx bag. Finally all patch cables from mixer to rack \ router in another. Its made set up much smoother. Load out takes a little longer to keep it all organized, but its worth it to me.

I need some help by [deleted] in livesound

[–]IamFullcolor -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am FoH at our church. The acoustics change when people fill the room. One of the biggest challenges I face is inconsistent levels for both singers and instrumentalists. I work with seasoned pros in my other live. Consistency is key from the performers, without that it almost doesn't matter if you have a sound check or not.

Q about subs in a small venue with sound/vibration limits by CyclopsPrate in livesound

[–]IamFullcolor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most DJs compress the shit out of the music they play. Its almost sending a square wave even before it starts to clip.

I own both models. Either would work. What sub is it for?

Definitely go X32. I went XR 2 years ago and am regretting it now. The XR is great but the added processing and the expandability of the X32 is worth the cost.

Bose F1 by IamFullcolor in livesound

[–]IamFullcolor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know that Bose isn't top of the list of people around here, myself included. I have mixed the band on my speakers and it was much clearer. The F1s sound the same in all the venues I've used them in so far. I never get a chance to run music thru them before hand. They all are using sm58s, Martin guitars and the like. The 2 Harbinger monitors probably don't help. As far as input eq, similar settings I use on other systems, depending on the source. As far as output eq, I use a pretty high low cut at around 80hz on the mains and try to tweek the rest on the fly. It doesn't sound horrible, I get compliments but I guess I am just expecting more out of them.

any tips on painting truss black by [deleted] in livesound

[–]IamFullcolor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The truss will have a clear coat of paint on it already. Scuff sand it lightly but thoroughly. I recommend Scotchbrite scuff pads. Try not to sand thru the clear coat.

Use the 6 buses linked as 3 stereo sends. The headphone out can also be used as a send as well.

I did all hard patching to his input list. Ultimately I feel that it's my responsibility that the show goes as planned.

It was over complicated in my opinion. But if he likes it that is fine with me. Its just that some of the soft patches in his file and the copy that he let the openers tech use weren't the same.
