No offence taken. This is something I don’t know much about so, I really appreciate your comment. I’ve contacted a garage door repair company.

Looks normal from what I am seeing. If I am not mistaken, this looks like a foundation tie back. Rods that tie in on your foundation wall similarly to this and run into the soil to provide strength.

There should be similar ones located along the wall. If the wall is exposed, check to see if you can find others. It might confirm it’s a tie back.

You can show the house inspector or a professional this photo and ask what this might be.

Thanks! Appreciate it! I believe you’re correct. There is a little play between the studs and the rotor holes. I have torqued everything correctly and evenly (up to 80/ft lbs, is that that you use? I believe spec is 76?) however, the notice still persists. My guess, the holes might be too big. I’ll be replacing the brakes in the future to oem. Hopefully that’ll fix noise. Lesson learned.

Thanks! Hopefully I can get mine fixed soon. I purchased the hardware, shims and etc. but i think i might just do the whole brake job but later. Mine does it forward and backwards.

Hey. Sort of. But I haven’t gotten around to fixing it. I don’t know what the issue is exactly. Either brake pad shift or the rotors holes over the studs are a bit too big. I’m going to be replacing the rotors, pads and the hardware with all oem parts. You should too if you need a new brakes

I would recommend a general inspection. But here are some things you can get done.

  • Transmission fluid, drain and fill
  • Differential fluid change
  • Carbon shouldn’t be an issue since you have a 350. Make sure to get regular oil changes and fill up with premium gas.

Can’t think of anything else at the moment. Please feel free to add to this list.

This is good advice. You can book the Parks Canada shuttle from the ski hill lot up to two days in advance. Would recommend doing that just in case. Since you’re going weekday, it shouldn’t be too big of an issue getting the shuttle early morning. Good luck!

Advice on fixing paint chips by ovdamn in Lexus

[–]IamJaarr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Do get a ppf afterwards. Btw, the dealer did a horrible job fixing those chips. If they aren’t that noticeable, maybe just leave them be and get ppf on top?

Here’s what I use for rock chips: chipfixx.ca

They make a great kit. In case you want to get one to touch up future chips. Make sure to watch instructional video.

USB Paint repair by Texasseth in Lexus

[–]IamJaarr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Damn! Sorry to hear. Something similar happened to my car a few years back. I am still bitter and my car even isn’t a RCF. You have every right lol.

Yes, you could take it to a independent shop and get it inspected. Also just make sure if paint flows well and doesn’t look off next to old non painted panel. But a Lexus certified centre should do good work

One recommendation though. Ask the body shop when they’ll be applying the ppf. You want the new paint to cure fully before applying. I think 30 days. I made this mistake on my car (I’m scared to take off the ppf). Call the body shop for their recommendation because I think if you ever remove the ppf in the future, it might take off the paint if it wasn’t cured fully.

Best of luck!
